This video shows how to make some fun quilt blocks using 2 different size squares. A very versatile block that can be set in numerous ways and borders too.
I truly enjoy your videos. It's very obvious that you enjoy your quilting adventures. You always create the most unique projects. Thanks for sharing. Keep safe.
I saw an arrow block in a book without the instructions when I was learning to quilt. You just showed me how to make them, and a bonus border to make it all lovely, easily. Thank-you sincerely. All the best.
Oh! I do enjoy your tutorials so much. I love all the possibilities with all of your tutorials. Have you published a book? I must Google to see if you have. I’d definitely be buying a book that you have published. ☺️ What I love especially is that there isn’t the need for all those expensive templates, besides the basic ones. I have invested in so many and they just sit in the sewing room unused, I just watch your tutorials and…… bingo! I have a quilt (several), that you have demonstrated, on the way. I love watching your tutorials when I want to take a break from the sewing machine or when I need cheering up. Thank you so very much for being such a generous and “delicious “ teacher. Keep well. ☺️
how to size up the squares- if i use 9 inch squares for the larger solid square, what size for the smaller? is it just a matter of preference for the ratio of center 'grid' width to corner patches? after watching a thousand videos, i think i'm ready, and this is going to be my first ever quilt- SEW beautiful!
Hi, how exciting, your first quilt! Yes, you are right about the sizing, mostly it is a preference for the sizing. I would suggest doing a couple of practice sizes just to make sure before you cut all your fabrics. You could try the solid 9" squares with a 7 1/2" smaller square perhaps and see if that looks good for you, or perhaps a 7" square, depending on how much solid you want. Love to see what you do.
@@susanclairemayfield1096 i am super excited about passing this winter creating something (hopefully 😳) amazing. a quilt has been on my bucket list for decades, always a little intimidating and... a big commitment.. 😋 but you make it look so very doable, and i thank you!
