22:16 YES. I agree so much, I don't know why it's such a hot take to dislike people in fiction that you would dislike in real life. I understand fiction from reality, but I can't understand people who like really bad characters if you wouldn't like them IRL(regardless if they're entertaining or hot which that isnt something im too hyperfixated or at all on when it comes to characters in fiction). Sorry for the rant. I'm just so happy someone else talked about this and has a similar opinion 😅

Ppl like characters like these purely because it's fiction, you can allow yourself to be interested in something because it's not real. Of course there are exceptions like p3dof1la but you know what I mean. People are intersed in villain characters cause their whole concept is often more complex or interesting than the "good" characters. But it's also perfectly normal for not liking them, they are made to be unnerving and for typical viewer to dislike . As for Sylus it's a different case 😭 He has a rough start but saying that he's toxic is plainly wrong and a complete lie but that's kinda the vibe you get from playing only 3 episodes lol

@g0ngaga806 A subjective opinion is not wrong if it's how the player feels about a certain character, so no. Quinn feels as if Sylus is coming off as toxic. If thats how he percieves the character, you am I or you to say how HE feels is a lie? I understand that fiction is completely different from reality, and people are allowed to like bad characters solely for their complex personality and background. What I was saying is I'm uncomfortable with liking people in fiction that I'd dislike in person. Is it a crime to like a bad character? No. Personally, I dislike people in fiction who are bad people. I don't find the appeal of liking someone who has done terrible things. Complex characters don't always=Bad characters and Vice versa with do. I just shared my opinion and expressed how I agree with Quinn. Not that I felt like people needed to take fiction seriously. Just that I, will not fully grasp the appeal of liking a character who has done serious and messed up things. An example of that is Nicole from Class of 09, I find the humor funny. I just don't like how the fans praised the character as if she did no wrong in the endings people get. My comment wasn't a direct hit to people who enjoy messed up characters, rather sharing the distaste of how much they are praised and the excuse for "they were made to be disliked" is used to people who also express that. If you can relate to a character who's messed up, that's not a good thing, but it's not a crime to feel attached to that said character(Though I'd suggest working on yourself if you can relate to fucked up characters) And that just also goes to say how writers either do a shit or impeccable job at making a character, regardless if their intention was for the consumers to enjoy or hate(Again, regardless of fan service.) That's just my opinion, and it might change if Quinn continues the story, and so might his. Who knows? Sorry for the rant. I just thought I'd explain more thoroughly.

@@Koriiiella no thank you for expressing your opinion ! I like to discuss different topics with ppl who have different views than mine. Yeah I agree ofc that quinn is entirely allowed to dislike him but I just find misleading to put a "toxic" patch on sylus especially for the audience who will probably mostly get the view of character through their streamer lens. But I also don't disagree with the things he said so that's just my bias towards Sylus 💔. With liking bad characters I think the problem is that many people don't consume media critically . When someone's is mentally aware it mostly doesn't matter what media they consume cause most of the times they will understand them . But with other ppl and especially kids in ages 13-16 it's getting trickier, like as you said with the identifying with evil characters or trying to potray as they did nothing wrong. There is also this mindset of some ppl that bad equals cool !! Which no, most of times you like the bad character cause of something more specific (maybe the are visually appealing , maybe they are cocky etc etc ). But if someone likes the character strictly cause of the idk murders or other inhumane things they do, that kind of person is either a edgy teenager or is mentally ill 💗 But yeah the whole topic is really interesting to think about and ppl gave many times conversed about it

@g0ngaga806 Oh, I totally agree with that! It's honestly about how you consume media(which you've already kind of stated.) and know how to separate fiction from reality in these types of medias especially, the problem ensues when people think that liking a bad character is quirky and an edgy thing to do! Like you said, bad characters doesnt equal the coolest person to exist. So there is some nuance to take into consideration of! I do agree that there can and is various reasons people enjoy the villians or anti-heros. My whole slosh with it was that I never saw someobodh with a similar opinion as me with the whole "if I dont like you in a game/show, i wont like you in real life" And yeah, the audience puts on lens the same as their streamer so I can understand the frustration with that. I think it is important, though, if you are going to watch a streamer that is heavily opinionated, you should also be able to make your own judgment without always having to agree on what the streamers you watch. That is hard to do regardless so I can see the concern😅. With everything that you've said, though, I 100% agree! I hope you have a good day, and thank you for sharing your perspective!🙂

Oh dood. You may think Sylus is crazy, but he isn't. I mean, sure, he's the leader of the N109 zone, and people from there need to be strong and ruthless at all time. But don't judge this man just yet.
