Ham lore: The preserving of pork leg as ham has a long history, with traces of production of cured ham among the Etruscan civilization known in the 6th and 5th century BC. The modern word "ham" is derived from the Old English ham or hom meaning the hollow or bend of the knee, from a Germanic base where it meant "crooked". Jamón ibérico and prosciutto are among the most famous regional ham varieties. Prosciutto in northern Italy dates all the way back to the Celts who first began preserving pork with salt and the Romans who later began air curing. The people there had discovered that the area provided the perfect conditions for air curing. Winds blowing down from the Carnic Alps meet the breezes coming in from the Adriatic Sea, creating a unique micro-climate and providing optimum temperature, moisture and ventilation conditions. It was soon discovered that prosciutto was kept perfectly without the need for added preservatives. It’s said that even Napoleon’s army enjoyed it and took large quantities of it back with him to France!

The Liberian flag is based off the American flag because Liberia is the result of an American colonization effort that started in the 1820s-1830s. Between then and the Civil War in the 1860s, many freed Africans were brought from the US to Africa (like seriously, there were different settlements called Maryland-in-Africa, Kentucky-in-Africa, and Mississippi-in-Africa). Unlike the US flag, the Liberian flag has eleven stripes and only one star. This represents the eleven delegates that signed the Liberian Declaration of Independence. The star represents the fact that when Liberia declared independence in the 1840s, it was the first republic in Africa, with the blue square representing the continent. The Puerto Rican flag on the other hand, is just an inverted version of the Cuban flag (aka the top half of my profile pic lol). But any word can be used in a bad way, you can dislike that usage of it but let's not draw a full conclusion on a word simply because it *can* be used in a shitty way. Words are words, the person have the power. I like Damien but he is actually almost too much of an ally. To the extent where it's like..dude you don't even have any connection to the problems you are an ally for at all so it almost becomes weird at times.
