I have to say I love your quirky houses! I have never been that interested in painting buildings before, but these houses and this style, I find so inspiring. I also adore the colours in this one. Thank you Mike.
Love the cottage tabs at the bottom. You should add the $thanks option. Very relaxing to watch. I hike they play this at rest homes and places where people can't get out. Would be a great view in the hospital setting too! Thanks again
Hey Mike , first happy New year to you and your family ....stay save 😊 I love your houses you paint ... It' s a joy every time....keep doing them ....and thanks for sharing all you're art with us ❤❤❤
Omgoodness! This one was so full of color and such a variety of techniques, lots of shading! Phew! Took me 5 days and if I hadn't have used similar colors you'd never know I was following your tutorial! I think I will try this tutorial again so I can do better! I loved it Mike! Was truly fun! I DID learn alot...I watched once all the way through. Next time I'll watch twice ;) Thank you for your time and skill! I couldn't find Bitumen so I mixed my own. Next! 👏🏻👏🏻☺☺👊🏼👊🏼
I have just found your videos Mike and find it amazing colours detail depth with your technique and talent controlling the water and colours, thanks greatly appreciate you sharing and explaining clearly to create a painting.
Thank you for another worthy tutorial. Love the way you fade out the pigment using a damp brush to give that atmospheric look. I gave it a try and actually managed to get it to work! Your demos are all quite inspiring without being overly complicated, so a novice like me can actually follow along with a good degree of success!
Mike, I was actually having a heart attack about those bushes at the front and then you just added those simple branches and voila! Perfection. Loved every second of this. It is better than therapy. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Fabulous painting!
These house paintings are so charming without being twee. You have mastered so many skills - these are hard paintings to get right. Yet they also make marvelous exercises! Paper quality - pigments that stain - colors that lift (too easily!) - brush work - transparency - water control in the brush and on paper!! Oh, and patience. One will either start drinking or stop. Always strive for perfection, whether butchering a side of beef or painting in watercolor. Thank you, Mike.
I absolutely love these quirky houses!!!! I’m hooked on your whole portfolio of RU-vid videos!!! I’ve been trying to figure out how to get those distant light colored houses! I’ve converted from acrylics and oils to watercolor!! I’m hooked and my determination to learn how to get the light by using the paper has paid off!!! Your brilliant!! I love to listen to you and you are my favorite master teacher!!! Thank you so much.
What a rare eye and gift you have! So inspiring! Thank you for sharing and spreading joy! Blessings on your new year. Looking forward to more amazing works🙋🏼♀️
This video popped into my feed at random, but your style and colouring are just exceptionally beautiful and I want it in my house so I can see it every day. Stunning. Edit: Just found your website, so gonna have a looksee at prints!
I really like you, you sound so kind and enjoying your process. When you put the orange on at about 15: it made my heart really happy at you loving. 😊😍
I think that a painter can really call himself a serious artist if he has his own style that is recognizable. Your "Quirky Houses" are so unique that I can tell from 10 kilometers away that they are those of the artist Mr. Jackson. The design, the impression of depth, this special relaxed and cheerful mood that these pictures convey and of course your chosen special colors in all their brilliance, luminosity and transparency. That is the beauty of watercolor painting, exactly that...
I love this painting! I sometimes have a hard time understanding your wonderful accent, you have such a soft voice. Thank you for your tutorials, please keep them coming for us!
Happy new year Mr mike , if I may I noticed a small contradiction in shadow of chimney and roof overhang, sort of 2 sun direction, but in the end it doesn't take any bit of the beauty and authenticity of your art work thank you 👍👍👍
I so love your quirky houses and the ease in which you share and teach. You've given me confidence to give your technique a try - so fun! Happy New Year Mike! I look forward to more of your quirky house paintings. So fun!
Just discovered your channel. Your style is so different and intriguing. It’s so different from everyone else’s. I’m a beginner using watercolors an excited to learn everything you are willing to teach on RU-vid. Thanks for sharing. You have a new subscriber.😊👍
Happy New Year! Love your “classes”. Such ease with the brush. You always have one color I wasn’t aware is available. 😊Bitumen? Great painting as usual. Beautiful mix of colors.
One of your tutorials just popped up on my feed and now I am totally hooked. I just love the quirkiness of your paintings. Can I ask what paper you use, I didn't see it mentioned. I assume it is fairly thick as you haven't tapped it or stretched it.
What a delight! The RU-vid algorithm got it right with this in my feed and I'm now a subscriber. Did the composition come to you on the fly or did you have a penciled sketch as a draft? The balance of everything is perfection!
I have alot of the colors you use but am missing some. Do you sell a set of your most used watercolors! I love the pigments. I have a couple of Daniel Smith pre poured pallets and a set of small tubes and my son just purchased a set of small tubes of Winsor and Newton. Are these the products you use?
Wonderful work-thank you! I wonder, what paper do you recommend? Perhaps you mentioned and I missed it, but I am struggling finding a decent watercolor paper that doesn’t break the bank. Thanks for the response.
The painting looks lovely, this is why I clicked on the video. Now saying that, it is very unfortunate that it was clickbait, for the actual video has a shaky cam, that is not properly zoomed in, and the video is... 4 minutes shy of an entire hour?! This could have been edited a lot better. Also the camera needs a steady stand, unless this is supposed to be found-footage horror? Again, I would love to see this painting, or something similar being done in 10-20 minutes, max, zoomed in properly and non-shaky.
Not click bait at all. I am an artist not a camera man. I put these videos up for free after around three hours of producing and uploading. I make around £5 for my trouble. Maybe you should pay for painting lessons or actually buy an art CD where you can watch properly and non shaky videos.
In less than 12 minutes, I have had five adverts four of which are ones I could not press the **ignore** SO, highly monetised greedy channel. Will not be looking at any here again
I don’t dictate the amount of adverts. I just select ‘monetise’ pardon me for expecting the tiny, I really mean TINY revenue for the work I inputted to generated this video. Approximately 7 hours production and uploading for around £2. I do this to help people to learn, certainly not for the £2
