I've dabbled with both. The hard was by far the worst for me. I drained my mothers bank account in no time at all. I was hanging out with random homeless people blowing the boulders. 🤣 A.A has saved my life and it's continuing to do so. I'm still working through the steps and it's painful but completely nessecary

I started drinking years ago as a teenage, got addicted to alcohol. Spent my whole life fighting alcohol addiction. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 6 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

I wish they were readily available in my place. Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He is 59 & has so many mental health issues plus probable CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac. He's constantly talking about killing someone. He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD know if it is common for an obsession with violence.

From my experience it really works excellently! It doesnt even need to be a full hit. With potent shrooms 2-3 small ones will still make a clear difference. It will be a few hour cosy rumbling moment around rest time, but afterwards its just calm and you feel amazing and gain your freedom. Psilocybin is different dudes, its the only "treatment" I would recommend to someone who genuinely wants to get better. There is no addiction, withdrawal, or negative side effects. It's just pure healing., far more effective than any anti-depressant. You can thank me later

I remember always being the last person at the party, the last person still sitting there awake and alone. It was such a miserable time, and I kept doing it. I am now 6 moths sober, I am still lonely as hell, but I am alive and fighting one day at a time. I don’t miss those nights at all. The worst was seeing the twilight as the sun came up, no sleep, those were the darkest of nights. I now wake up at 5 am sober and it is so different to have gotten sleep. I still don’t have motivation to do anything, but I know it’s 100 times better than if I had drank or did drugs. I just have to remind myself of the horrible times on drugs and alcohol.

Good for u man for real!! I know that feeling of a constant lack of motivation. I've been off alcohol for about 5 weeks now after 20 yrs of drinking every single day. In the end I was drinking a Sleeve of Fireball shots everyday and some days 2 sleeves. Thats 10 to 20 shots everyday. I cant believe im still upright tbh. However, im 42 now and physically my body was shutting down. Thats what made me stop. My stomach was so big from bloat and probably acites that i could barely move, tie my shoes or even bend over. Yet i kept on drinking. Im so Blessed to still be here and I wish u all the best my friend!

It’s tough to do. Rehab is expensive and a lot of us out here had to go it alone. Some of us come from family dynamics where everyone is an alcoholic. Our friends are alcoholics. I’m not saying it’s easier to quit when you come from a nontoxic family, but it is easier to relapse when you come from the bottom. Good luck out there. Sobriety is beautiful and worth the effort.

Thank you for the motivation! I've had some near-miss wake up calls that are screaming at me to stop. Like screaming at my next-door neighbors in the middle of the night. So embarrassing the regret and shame I go work out in the evening (two different gyms), and each of them has a liquor store right next door I just need to keep walking and plan something to do at home that's enjoyable besides drinking alone. Due to your inspiration I will give my body a chance / give it a rest for a while because I feel so beat up the next morning.
@RileyBanksWho
@RileyBanksWho 7 месяцев назад
I used to drink almost daily between ages 17 and 27. Then, I quit cold turkey, and I haven’t had a single drink in about 5 years. Today, it’s not that I have to try not to go back to drinking; my body and mind completely reject even the idea of drinking. Being sober for so long, I now understand how dangerous and poisonous alcohol is, even if you drink 'just one glass of wine' a week and think that’s normal or acceptable. It’s not. 🚫 Alcohol brings nothing but headaches and unexpected pregnancy (I learned that the hard way😂). To everyone struggling out there: take it from someone who HAD to have a buzz at least once a night to cope with life. It’s been almost 5 years since my last drink, and alcohol means NOTHING to me now. If I can go from being a loser with no career, money, hope, and dreams to who I am now, you can absolutely do it too.

I’m 3 years sober. I’m soon to be 54 and drank for 36 of those years. Came close to death a few times. Spent 5 days in intensive care suffering from DTs after having a psychotic episode in my 3rd rehab stint. I watch videos like this periodically to remind myself where I came from. I tried AA a few times but it just wasn’t a good fit for me. I finally had a spiritual awakening and stopped for the final time on June 25, 2021. I’ve been searching for the answer for years and finally realized the answer is inside all of us. Look deep inside yourself and you will see the strength you are seeking.

If alcohol was an actual person, I'd be in prison without remorse. It has irreplaceabley caused so much damage to those I've loved. It's caused soooo much pain to them and everyone around them. I loathe it from deep in my soul, as much as I loathe satan himself. I see no difference between the impact of either.

Same. It's such a cruel drug because it's legal, relatively inexpensive, very easy to get anywhere. Heck, I've even gotten it delivered same day right to my door. I need to find things I like better than my serious hobby of drinking I have ruined friendships and even some family members don't want to be around me. I get aggressive and don't know when to stop; like an angry "switch" goes off and it scares me the next day.

Try again. Be ready to quit. Please try, I lost my dad to alcoholism, I couldn't even find him when he needed my help. My brother got sober at 24, I got sober at 26. Drank for about 4 - 5 years, but it was a bad time. Get a good sponsor, they're hard to find, but a good one will kick your ass, and pick you up at the same time, because they've been through it. Peace and love to you, and no, all women aren't catty men haters. One of my very best friends for the last several decades is a man, and he's like a brother to me.

i want to say its possible to do anything alone so if you have no one who can help you don't just use that as an excuse I am working on my PTSD almost all alone and I have come a long way... do your best and get help if you can but never give up .. don't use it as an excuse ... therefore I don't agree that you cant do it alone no you can do your best until you find help sometimes you have to do your best just to be available for someone to help you later...if you give up now totally that one person or group or whatever might never come.

Of course there are SEVERAL factors that "justify" my stress/pain but the pain is the major factor. 4 kids, an AASdegree, a divorce and toxic relationships didn't 'help' but I'm tired of the aftermath and the financial burden. I've been to rehab once and they didn't want release me due to the toxic relationship I left...then I went from bad to worse. I should say I don't drink to get drunk all the time but I'm at and have been at a pint of vodka (100 proof) a day. For the last 3 years.

When I finally beat smoking, I cut back on coffee and alcohol as they could make me crave a cigarette. I felt so much less stress after quitting smoking and then I began to lose my taste for alcohol. I don't understand how someone could drink heavily everyday and stomach that. But then again, I used to stick disgusting and deadly cancer sticks in my mouth and light them up for years on end and am not sure how my lungs managed to put up with that abuse.

I agree. It's completely unnecessary and misses the mark entirely. I wonder if it's used as a way to distract the algorithm from recognising that most of the content is taken from other people's videos on RU-vid and avoiding copyright strikes etc.

Why do some people get angry or start fights when drinking yet other heavy drinkers are nice and generous. I've never figured that one out. Is that caused by long term heavy drinking because of changes in the brain or malnutrition or is it genetics? I know everyone is different but what are the main reasons for that angry reaction that some drinkers get after even their first drink?

I have no illusions or delusions. I neither see myself as more elegant or sophisticated when I drink. W.T.Heck.?? I use alcohol for my Essential Tremors and when I want to Paint or need to Write. Because of other limiting factors I cannot and do not want to take pharmaceuticals. That don't work in my system in the long run. I don't like them. They don't work because they cause bad effects in so many other medical Conditions I am experiencing. Alcohol works quickly for what I need and clears out of my system quickly. I am persistent in daily practicing healthy wellness lifestyle and dietary behaviors in caring for my body mind and being and consistently track my liver and all organ health.

I do care and I have no alcohol issue but I have a smoking issue and this has made me want to change. I wish that tomorrow that they would quit selling all alcohol and cigarettes but that’s not going to happen. What could happen is reduce the alcohol in drinks to 1% and people would have to drink so much to get drunk they would be boated and miserable long before getting drunk. I would like to see them do this over a 6 month period th period so people could be taken off alcohol very slowly. This month remove 1% in beer then the following month another 1% and so on. I would also like them to remove nicotine slowly as well the same way. What would happen is we would see a much healthier society. As far as heavy liquors I would say since the alcohol level is so high then it has to be resulted by 10% each month.

couple of centers on the East coast are having some success with a new medication but it is not available widespread yet. What makes meth so difficult is the damage to our brains and the length of time to stabilize in recovery. My own experience withis thatt depending on the time used and the amount..takes minimum 2 to 3 years for the brain to heal and synapses to occur smoothly. linically, the drug for which we have poor treatment is Meth.
@megyoung7947
@megyoung7947 Месяц назад
the synapses in my computer aren't consistent. DK why. Other issue...our spiritual programs will become strong and will be lifesavers. In AA/NA, we do not preach any eligion. It is one of the reasons I stayed with it. Remember one thing, my sober family...one day at a time, an hour at a time, a minute at a time. That is all we are asked to do..Hey..have fun in recovery, too....dances, rollercoasters, etc. My love to all, Meg Young

What happened to Mathew Perry is infuriating and the doctors prescribing these very addictive drugs and psychotherapists and scientists/podcasters promoting them need to look in the mirror and see if they even have a soul or anything resembling morality, integrity, or even a conscience. Think! It through! It's your damn job, isn't it? First do no harm!!!!!!
