The channel has helped the charities you support raise funds for them. How TDW can't see that truck YT channels are a great thing. Promoting the company is a win win. I believe it's the best decision you made.
Good on you Martyn for sticking to your guns. They can’t tell you to stop vlogging, when they gave you there approval from the get go. It sounds like some people are jealous of the success that you are having with your channel.
I would agree with BigSweed9 that it probably was jealousy. Its a pity that this has happened. You really seemed to like the job but the companies need to understand that your truck is your "home" through the week and you need to make it feel like home aswell but telling you to turn off the lightboard was childish.....good luck with the new job and you know your audience will still follow you....
Like much else these days, was that approval in Writing ? A verbal agreement ain't worth the paper it's not written on. The Interweb is indeed a strange place, with attitudes and principles changing almost instantaneously. It's often difficult for humans to keep up with the changes. Was it Groucho Marx that said..."I've got my Principles you know !...but if they don't suit you,I can find plenty more " ! Life has gone on 😃
Well done Martyn. And Claire was Right. The more Popular you become the more you will see Resentment. Had The very same issue with the Cattle Company, Jealous Driver Complaining about my videos.Correct Decision to walk away, I did the same. Bravo and Regards To Claire & yourself
Good on you Mart. Stick to your guns! They told you recording was fine at the start so they are the ones who have gone back on their word. You don’t need to work in a toxic environment like that where people are obviously jealous of what you do and the success you’ve had with it. Also that driver trainer just sounds like a total jobsworth. Hope you’ve found somewhere that’s worth working for and I look forward to vlogs continuing. Onwards and upwards and hope you’re all ok after the anniversary of your dads passing 👍🚚
@@TruckerJenko have u found a new job and will it still be trucking and will u be able to vlog ur new job and will u get European work with the new job and will u get ur own truck
Big respect for standing up for yourself and doing what you believe in and enjoy. I recently lost my job for standing up to rude and condescending managers and have decided to work towards my HGV licence due to channels like this one. Keep it up Jenko can't wait for the next video!
Completely agree with a previous comment from stevejasper, you're true ambassador for both the industry and the employer, TDW's loss! All the very best with your future adventures.
All the best in the new job Martyn. I can’t see the problem of you recording your vlogs, it’s free advertising for them! Also for all the money you raise for charity. Keep the vlogs coming. Looking forward to the next one! All the best mate.
I have only followed you for about 3 months, so not the longest, but in that time I have discerned that you are a man of honest integrity. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
Mart: You've been an honest man true to your words all these five years. I never met you in person BUT deep in my heart I know your are honest, hardworking fellow. There are many companies, industries, etc that just say words which are empty. You, myself, and others have hit low points but we muster on. There's always light on the other end. My only suggestion or advice is to get ALL the permission in writing can be email or physical paper that's got the company name/logo; and signed by whoever is present. So when things like this happen you can so your proof. If they tear it up whcih will happen keep a back up and then just find somewhere else to work. I've done that at my college and just left. Happy school boy now. Keep trundling upwards, Mart!!! I've got faith in you!!!
Hi Jenko. Just listened to your last vlog with TDWilliams. Lovely to have a mention for me an my fella , Mark from Uttoxeter (lol). We both wish you all the luck in your new job and you keep vlogging and we’ll keep following you mate. Mark said to give him a flash on the motorway. 🚛
I have always really enjoyed your video - I find them interesting. I am sure you will probably be happier elsewhere and long may your vlogging continue. I for one, will be looking out for more content and good luck.
I reckon martyn is just being polite and professional in saying he's got no issues with the company and a few of the staff etc but I bet deep down he would want to say the truth
Well done. I hate pleasing these pen pushing, keyboard tapping, snowflake bureaucratic jobsworths too, but you have stuck to your own principles. Kudos.🎉
Nice to meet you today at Magor Services Martin (Müller Driver)… good for you sticking to your guns, your content helped me so much when I started driving just over a year ago… keep up the good work…
Former HGV driver and heavy machine operator.......... BRAVO Mate.. Stuff them, Does no harm and only helps newbies to the long road, Shame on that company! Keep er lit bud
Good on you Jenko it’s their loss, keep up the good work, you vlogs are a joy to watch and promote the industry and the hard work you drivers do to keep this country working
Hi Trucker Jenko well done on not stopping your vlogs and all the best in your new job, I subscribed to your channel because of your stance on leaving the job instead stopping your vlogs and i will share all of your video on Twitter or X as it is now.
I've been following you for a while and just wanted to say your vlogs are good, and good on you for sticking to your guns. Looking forward to following you on the container work. Good luck.
Claire's wise counsel was right, those of us who followed you on RU-vid for years know what an asset you have been to the haulage industry, especially showing new entrants the positives. I hope karma makes the complaining driver suffer. Sad that management didn't live up to their word when recruiting a vlogger and tremendous ambassador, wishing you both well for the future - 'til the next one "toodles". Dave Marriott, ex Spire Transport of Chesterfield; William's Bros (Wales) and P&O companies across Britain.
Good luck, hope your new job goes well, it's sad that the company can't see its advertisement for them, but hey how, their loss, dont give up your vlog's, wish you well 🏴
Got to agree with your mrs, you've put alot of effort into this channel and clearly enjoy doing the vlogs so dont stick around somewhere where they arent welcome. Hope youve found something better!
Tough call Jenko but at the end of the day surely paying the bills comes first. Personally I thought you and Ferryman were a good fit, they seemed media savvy and embraced what you did. Good luck in your new employment and hope things work out OK 👍
Good for you and the only thing I can say is they new what you did!! Keep on trucking and doing what you do with all of you charm which keeps us all entertained!
Good luck at the new job Martyn. Unfortunately there are some small minded people in this world who take pleasure and joy in mucking things up for others even when nothing untoward has happened; whatever the reason behind it they need to get a life as karma has a thing of getting round to those who do things like this.
All the best in the new job jenko, glad you never decided 2 stop vlogging as wouldn’t be the same without you, as they say it’s time for a new adventure 🚚🚛
Seems like you had a very jealous colleague, Jenko. I'd have thought any employer would recognise your contribution and the very positive and valuable PR to their trucking business. Oh well, their loss. All the very best in your new job mate!!
what an envy of that driver.... you do so much good with your channel, both for charity and for people who would like to see something of the country, and do not have the opportunity to do so themselves. or just love seeing you and your truck, where does Martin go next. Thank you Martin for the great content that you make, and will still do so.😉👍👍👍
I’ve been driving for 15 years this year, I’ll never understand why companies have to micromanage drivers to such an extent. If my drivers turned up on time, didn’t have accidents and could do the job, that should be it! Lightboard? Knock yourself out! Truckshow? Why not? Love the videos mate glad you made the right choice
Hi Martin, Sorry to learn your leaving your new job so soon and without crossing the water which I know you were looking forward to. I understand companies have to be aware of what’s being filmed, they might not mind but there customers might. Anyway I think you are doing the right thing and hopefully your new employers will be more understanding. As someone who loves watching yours and others trucking vlogs my fingers are crossed that this is is only a temporary glitch. Please keep up the hard work an effort you put into making these vlogs, it’s appreciated.
Sorry to hear this Jenko. Fairplay for showing Class and thanking the Planners....which is rare these days. I wouldn't want to work within drivers who are snakes. I look forward to your new challenge.
Upwards and onwards mate you've built up a good following through hard work and personally helped people (new drivers like me ) with help and advice on stuff , best of luck 👍
Hi Trucker Jenko. Your the best with Kevtee Luck C and Trucker Jay , Scott Andrews . All the best of what you do I will always liked your stuff and always will Take no notice on what people say about you HEAD UP
Their loss mate, you stick to your guns lad, whoever the next employer is will be lucky to have you, and we your subscribers, support you all the way!!!! you are a diamond trucker Jenko!!! 😊🤗🤗🤗😁😁
Onwards and upwards Martyn best wishes and good luck in your the new job as i always say one door closes another one opens, keep on trucking mate and keep up the great vlogs👍
Who were you hurting mate? No one! Kids be crazy as they say. Anyways good luck on your next adventure Martin. Will look forward to the new jobs videos. Literally starting in the industry on Monday looking forward to it. All the best 👍
Can’t say I’m an avid viewer but I do watch your content from time to time, I remember when you started how pleased you was because you could continue to vlog, good on you for following what you enjoy and good luck mate!
Proud of you mate as a fellow trucker. We live in a cotton wool society and I’m glad you stuck by your guns. It did no harm and helped newer truckers understand more and also promoted the company. It’s mad that, that decision was made to be honest. Keep on trucking brother 💪🏻✌️👍
Bravo bud stick to your guns. 👍👍👍. Blows my mind how much drivers moan and complain about each other. The ones that complained are sad jealous, lonely, little people. They should be ashamed of themselves.
Good for you for sticking to your principles. I enjoy your vlogs so keep them coming. Sad the company gave you an ultimatum, there loss as there is a shortage of drivers and other drivers might think twice about working for them seeing your experience. Good luck with the container work I am sure you will enjoy it even if it does mean a lot of hanging around..
Feel for you man , I know what other drivers in the company could be like they’re normally twisty old knackers so it’s best to just keep yourself to yourself and crack on . Good luck
It's your life to live as you wish, no one else's, however much they wish, and if you bring pleasure to a lot of other people along the way, then good for you, all the best for the future
Very interesting that you are being encouraged to move on. A relative of mine has been having similar problems with firms expecting them not to work correct hours or drive dodgy vehicles etc so has had to move on several times. Very unsettling and disruptive for them. Good luck for the future with a good working company. Take care out there. Great vlogs thank you.
I worked out years ago there is no such thing as loyalty in the workplace.Very diplomatic of you to be so nice about it, childish jealous driver that's got A brown tongue, there's one in every firm. All The best in your new job
Well done Martyn on doing what you enjoy doing making vlogs for all of us subscribers to enjoy watching from a Saturday evening, its a shame you had to leave a job you've enjoyed just because some drivers can't stand you vlogging, hope you settle in well with your new company and look forward to your vlogs on a weekend
Nothing but respect for you mate!!! I totally agree with Claire. TDW’s loss is X Transports gain!! You are an amazing ambassador for the transport industry and have inspired thousands (I should imagine) to join the industry with your informative & honest vlogs of what to expect day to day as a truck driver. Very proud of you to sticking for your guns mate!! A man like you will never struggle to find a decent job. All the best mate 😊👍
Makes you 😂 laugh with keyboard warriors 😂 TDW said it was fine to record 🤭 then change there minds 😂😂 As Mrs Jenko said you spent time and effort to get your channel where it is now 👍🏻 Good luck on new venture Buddy 👍🏻
Good on you Jenko stick to your guns and don’t get pushed in to doing something you don’t want to do the problem is with companies they say one thing to get you in to the company then everything changes once they think your settled it’s disgusting the way the treat drivers hence why I left the country and moved to canada a lot more respect and work is amazing out here Keep up the videos I enjoy watching them
given that vlogging was agreed as part of your recruitment/job offer and they then later gave the ultimatum to stop or leave you could have a case for constructive dismissal against them if you wanted to pursue it. I suspect however that you aren't that kind of person to hold a grudge like that.
Good for you Martyn. You and others like you, keep me going and I thoroughly enjoy your channels. I've watched you since my lovely husband, Tom, passed away four years ago, and watching you and the others is like watching friends. I really get the feeling now that bosses like at that company and the ones I worked with when I was working (I was a secretary for solicitors), went to the same universities, its just that they didn't complete the peoples skills course on how to treat work colleagues with a little more respect, and work colleagues who stabs people in the back at the blink of an eye. We all work to long (I've worked for over 40 years, and its actually the last 15 years that were the worst) to keep working for these creeps. You have made a great decision. It won't be long before those companies go down as they will get a reputation. Keep up the work Martyn. Although I did wonder when we didn't hear anything, and anyway, I'm glad you're going because I could never remember the name of the company you worked for🤣🤣🤣
Martyn I only lasted 3 days with TDW and glad I quit, no support, no help what so ever just told to get on with it and so far I’ve not even been paid a wage, in fact I was not given any training or payroll number what so ever. They are a waste of space and the best thing you done is move on. Good luck.
There are some sad people about. Great to hear you are continuing with your vlogs all be it with a different company. There loss.... keep up the good work.
Its disgusting the way you have been treated Martyn. You don't need to be at a disgusting employer like that and I really hope they don't begin to treat Claire this way. Good luck with your new employment.
