Do it! We'll all support you. Band-Maid is like no other band in the world. Whatever you think you know about music... They'll turn your world upside down. It was Kanami's guitar that first sucked me in as well. It took about 5 seconds into a song before I was saying "That's my sound"!
Not going to follow this guy all about TRYING to find positives (glad hes being careful about HOW he says things) so I'm thinking this is NOT a Band for him doesn't seem to like this kind of music (he even says so). I get not liking it but not even being impressed with the musicianship worries me nothing good to say about the Bass other than his best friend WOULD like it has me shuddering.
@@DavidMISAMISAMISACook Dave i've been missing for 1½ months so idk much about all the new reactors. This was only my second day back so i'm just leaving random comments so everyone knows i'm not dead yet.😁 Anyway apart from having a rant how are you?
@@GaryHolloway-810 Holly Shit hope everything is OK, I'm sorry I did not even notice your absence, probably due to the fact that I have been extremely picky with re-actors of late plus I've been mainly concentrating on Hanabie as I will be seeing them in 2 weeks
@@DavidMISAMISAMISACook Yeah just about keeping my head above water. I've been looking thru the reactions & mostly after a few seconds i've been going "Nope". "Nope". "Nope". Oh wow that's awesome, see, bands do come to Oz. First Rolling Quartz & now Hanabie. I hope you have an awesome time, Dave (that's a rhetorical statement) :)
@@energeticmusiclover Keep in mind that the first 3 albums, except for 1 song, Alone, was not written by the band. Since then, aside from about 5 songs, all band written. The diversity of their songs is amazing, yet they all have a Band Maid "sound".
You've touched on something which has attracted a lot of us to this group of ladies. There's a touch of nostalgia to their music but doing their own thing at the same time. It's a great combination.
What a band...their discography is consistently superb. Never gets stale or predictable. A very rewarding journey into the Maid Rock genre awaits you 👌👍 I share the song that I found most addictive when I found their channel...the 'Dice' MV has a great studio audio arrangement 👌👊🔥🤘🤘🤘
The mention of doing Band-Maid's entire discography meant an automatic new subscription from me. If you enjoy hard rock - all types of hard rock - then you have found the holy grail. Band-Maid are, imho, the best progressive hard rock band ever. Maidiacs will be with you as you dive deep down the pigeon hole.
Nice reaction and observations. I would love to see you explore their discography. The first album, Maid in Japan is Power Pop. They switched to hard rock in 2d album. They started writing most of their own songs by the 4th album. As you noticed they have a lot of variety and Kanami often switches up her guitar tones.
Miku (the background vocalist) has a pretty similar tone in her voice to the lead vocalist Saiki. So Miku can mimic Saiki whenever she wants and make her voice fuller, if that makes sense? Their ability to complement each other is one of the magical features of this band.
Definitely do the discography. Not only will you be blown away but a lot of the new Maidiacs will finally discover that Band-Maid has much more to offer than "Hate" as a listening suggestion. Even though the management wrote their songs at the beginning of Band-Maids career, Kanami (lead guitarist and song writer) was very instrumental in arranging the music to make each song unique and just plain ROCKIN! Enjoy the ride....... and most of us will be right here enjoying your discovery. I've been listening to Band-Maid since 2017 and never tire of repeatably listening to all their tracks. Great reaction!
From their first songs, written by studio song writers, to their most recent original songs, you can't go wrong with Band Maid🎀The pigeonhole is deep, around 140 songs that range from good to great. No two alike, no fluff or fillers, they never phone it in, they just keep delivering their own special brand of wonderful music! 😸Bring on the Maids!!!!
Great job 👏🏽 🤘🏽 Doing their entire discography is a herculean task, but it will give you the opportunity to hear the wildly different songs they’ve done throughout their evolution. Wildly different. Insanely different. Green Day (or AC/DC) would be my choice as the opposite of Band Maid’s variety. The Beatles would be more comparative as far as sonic diversity. I’m a fan of this style of Maid. The crunchy 80’s guitars and heavier riffs. The quirk you felt during the song is likely that Maid Magic: the heavy, nasty rock with a soft and fun pop current underneath. You want to headbang and snarl, but at the same time, bounce around and smile at everyone 😊 “Moratorium” is in my top ten favorite Band Maid songs. If you want more like this: “secret My lips,” “The non-fiction days,” “DICE,” or “Puzzle.” If you’re committed to the whole discography? There is only one place to start: “Thrill,” OMV. Band Maid’s first (and nearly last) music video. The video that launched a million Maidiacs and saved the band.
I've always been a dedicated person, especially with music. And whilst it's a herculean task, like I wrote in the poll, "I'm totally ready for it and would love to do it with all you2 So we'll probably do it, since the majority likes the idea 😄 And I agree with you, I'm also more of fan of this style to due the "crunchy 80’s guitars and heavier riffs"
The back-up vocalist is the band founder. :) She is actually the 2nd vocalist instead of just a back-up vocalist. And she is the rhythm guitarist as well. She is the FACE of the band and you can also see how FINE she is. This song was actually written with the audience in mind for audience participation.
I wonder if the interesting pacing/structure of the song has more to so with how Japanese is spoken/understood. It might sound odd to us, but sound more natural to a native speaker. I am loving this band the more I hear them. The energy and the singer's voice really has me hooked.
I think you could be right with what you said about the pacing. Now that I think about it, that makes a whole lot of sense, which I haven't thought about before!
First, there's not a chance that 80% won't say entire discography. There are a few reactors that have done it, and one that's doing it now, one a week so it's going to take him years. I'll be dead by the time he gets to Epic Narritives. I challenge you to find a Band Maid song that sucks.
After 11 years together, Band-Maid not only has a huge catalog, they have a huge catalog of really good songs. Lead guitarist and primary composer, Kanami Töno says they do write LOTS of bad songs. It's just that those songs all wind up at the bottom of vocalist Saiki's waste basket. Secondary vocalist Miku often winds up buried in the mix, but is also singing along live and often on several vocal layers of the pre-recorded backing track. Band-Maid composes with the idea that they'll be performing every song live as part of their show and they keep all levels audience engagement in mind. They think about the audience singing along, how the audience feels and reacts. As a result their music is extremely communicative; more so than most bands and it is entirely intentional.
BTW: last year Band-Maid released TWO "Best Of Band-Maid" CDs: Volumes One and Two. Upon release, fans could not keep from creating track lists for Volumes Three and Four. Their song catalog is a deep, deep pigeon hole.
BandMaid is the greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century IMHO. It's a crazy statement. Was Mozart the world's greatest composer of his era? He'll yeah! The farther we get away from that time the more clearly we see the immensity of his talent. Few would argue with the above assessment. Everytime I write "IMHO" after BandMaid is the greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century I feel like a liar. IMHO my ass! IMHO water is wet. BandMaid rules right now. 66 years old here. The future will prove us right.
