Brilliant podcast, Mick you did fab, presented the album well and sold the passion. Quo Connection are also the closest we'll get in this lifetime to the real thing. Keep doing what you do, we love it.

Nice one, Mick! I got this album when I was aged ten and loved the raw, somewhat aggressive sound. Francis excels throughout on the solos- so inventive and melodic, as you say. With Alan and Rick up front for a while and Johns drumming in full force. Great arrangements, too. (Dan Coggins)

Despite the misgivings from Francis they clearly were a successful creative unit. Producing themselves was equally a winning formula for the band.

One of the best albums EVER by any artist, QUO ! With one of their best songs, unfortunately never played live, LONELY MAN !!

Great episode, really enjoyed that. Regarding Break the Rules and being covered by country artists. I have seen on RU-vid an American country artist cover it, was a few years ago and really can’t remember the name of the singer. The Western Sizzlers also recorded an excellent version of it and I have it from a very good source, in fact, almost impeccable source that Charlie Starr from Blackberry Smoke played guitar on it and it’s his lead break..

Can always get away with playing the main major solo to break the rules and have some one else to play the minor solo if u are in a guitar band.
