Thank you for explaining this topic. I'm a Psychologist. I agree with you about "we should put allah on everything". I think as Muslims we are in the high time to create a new therapy based on Islamic perspectives.

I'm a Muslim and a neuropsychologist myself. And I just want to say thank you' we really need people like you explaining this important topics. Because we have Muslims who refuse to get psychology therapy when they need because they think it's haram, and you have the total opposite ones who use random videos found on the net to explain their feelings instead of getting therapy and returning To God. To add on. Shaytan can and will come to play with your mind (give you waswasa) using psychology when you 1. Don’t include Allah and 2. Actually speak to professionals in psychology, etc. We all have to be very careful with this.

I think, there's no wrong when people trying to solve their problem thru speak to psychologist. It's part of the effort to heal themselves, besides seek for Allah's help and guidance of course. If we learned from the islamic psychology history, ibnu sina was also became pioneered in mentally sickness treatment. For me, what to concern when we need the professional help is to choose the islamic counseling with true psychologist muslim. Nowadays there are many counseling offers islamic method. So just don't think that we are bad and far enough from Allah if we need to speak to professionals. My point is there's huge difference between speak to professional as our effort to solve our problem and listen to the unclear information about psychology that disconnected with the God. May Allah take care of our mind and soul.

@@dikanur5660 It seems you may be misunderstanding, my friend. I never said psychology is wrong or is against Allah or Islam and I don’t think he’s saying that in the video. The point being made is to not go too far on your own with psychology. My studies in psychology and I can tell you many can easily misunderstand, misdiagnose, and go down the wrong understanding in many areas if they don’t ask a professional. So we have to be careful not to just go around trying to diagnose ourselves, others, etc. Its ok to gain understanding, some learning, but still seek professional help. Also, to be careful with certain psychological concepts that may divert far away from Allah and Islamic teachings. To add on, I said always include Allah because Allah is the one that heals in the beginning and at the end. You won’t divert in the wrong way when you include Allah.

@@ThatsMADDDare u majoring psychology? Can i ask u, how I can recognize my bad pattern? Like the way I think. I've had a counseling with local psychologist here, but she ended the session saying I don't need any therapy session anymore. We just did 3 session😅 ofcourse i have an improvement in my mood, focus and concentration. But i still have lingering feelings about distrust and hate towards people. I don't feel like I can be the nice and kind person as I was before. Also I don't feel like socializing or connecting to new person, I think everybody is busy with their own life's problem and almost everybody who have their own family wouldn't bother someone else outside their little family. I feel like I must live on my own, coz eventually human will die alone. So I strongly questioning "human is a social being", we only be social if we need something thats the most understandable point of view for me. I just feel like I live alone in this world.

I beg to disagree on one thing, Psychology is not solely dedicated to making people feel happy and its not even the essence of it. Perhaps, what you are talking about is those woke psychology content creators who exploit psychological terms for content and clout. But if you watch genuine psychology content creators, they are very cautious about giving people the idea that they can self-diagnose or use psychological terms as weapons or adjectives to label people.

Psychology is more of arts than science if you consider that just a 20% consistency in results in a controlled experiment will be considered a good theory whereas in chemistry, math or physics need more than 80% consistency usually to be even considered as a workable theory 😅

With also the help of psychology and counseling conversation i watched through social media platforms. I used to understand the behavior of my mom who elaborates some of narcissistic symptoms. So, what used to be, Hate towards her, it turned out to be understanding. What used to be endless arguments with her, i stop opening talks that will triggers her. I was cautious about what I will say next to her even sometimes I feel the urge to say or defend myself. But through the help of psychological therapy videos I watched online. I grasped all the positivities it delivers. I now set boundaries (not being ARROGANT) but setting aside what triggers the behavior of my mom. Rather, what used to be a Toxic meeting turns out to be a meeting full of understandings. Thus we parted ways after with a light heart. No bad arguments. So i think psychology do help somehow with also the involvement and guidance of Qur'an as well.

mmm... well a lot of the times it is actually the parents that are arrogant, mistreat their children however they feel like with no limits or boundaries to stop themselves or have any self reflection on their behavior. While the mistreated child is confused and in pain and becomes angry over time. My understanding of Islam is that it is a very well balanced religion where both the parents and the children have rights and duties and both should respect each other and treat each other kindly.

Positive psychology is a separate branch designed for people who are experiencing depression. What is so wrong about feeling happy? Whoever does good, either male or female, will lead a good life. It is a promise in the Quran. Why are muslims so critical about being happy? There is nothing thst says you cannot enjoy halal thing. We seem to have guilt around feeling happy. Why is that?

If someone is saying draw a boundary, leave that person and blah blah but what about the other person maybe he/she is dealing with something serious that’s why they are behaving deviant. This world is turning into heartless zombies. No empathy no stability no humanity. Only me,myself and my thoughts. 😢

U are right but some time other person have different personality lets suppose some one is highly introvert with some one who is highly extrovert, introvert are quit, dont feel good in small talk and they feel exhaust with lots of get together function , so if any introvert feeling not good in extrovert things they can say its enough to extrovert, if they dont say no and in respect they keep doing with extrovert they can lose themself Or exhaust Or may be they can go in truama something mind disturbance Or vice versa with extrovert also with introvert thing

I respectfully disagree with some of the points made. 1- no, the point of therapy is not to be happy. Happiness is a fleeting emotion. The point of therapy is to find acceptance and contentment..something that our deen teaches us to have. 2 - the examples given of "authorities" undermines the efforts of those are educated and trained in the field. Professionals know not to throw around terms like 'trauma', 'ptsd', 'narcissism'. This attempt to showcase content creators as authority undermines the essence and effort of therapists. 3 - having boundaries is not bad akhlak if it is done properly, keeping respect and understanding as the forefront. Our Islam teaches us that as well. Disappointed in this khutbah...

Only the Zombies and drug addicts and alcoholics with severe mental illnesses will give up their Deen, for more drugs, more money; sensible, heartfelt people are healed from Allah’s beautiful Guidance. Those I have met-many-who left Islam are selfish by nature, greedy by choice, and disrespectful to their elders and caregivers as popular cults guide their lot. Also, the more sins one collects in one’s repertoire of bad deeds, the more their conscience, and good family members, begin disappearing from their lives. Such is life. “Allah does not change the Condition of a people, until they strive to change something in themselves.” Quran. All of Quran is a great learning process that takes time for the inner demons to be let out, and the traumatic events to heal inside. SubhanAllah. Everyone suffers from something. Those who don’t feel pain for themselves or equal, fellow humans, are either zombies or psychopaths.

Challenge: My friend told me you are told not to question in Islam. Thats a lack of faith. Plenty of People in science are also apart of religions create bad things that serve their own purpose. The same way people will find no connection to the Quran. Theres also those who will use scriptures to serve their own purpose despite it being against what the leader stood for. Jesus stood for gifting the “enemy” and Loving them. Yet thats not what is shown in military christians. Muhammad Taught through behavior. Gift people with knowledge because it makes them less violent. He said judge people by their actions being fair. But i have experience all people within their own religion being unjust and unfair to another, simply because they are labled “jew” or “christian” or “muslim” .. thats nkt what thd Torah, Bible or Quran teach or demonstrate. So now you say they make no connection to the Quran.. because unless you want to find a connection.. it would be the same as me handing you a bible. When i went explorinh all of then. I was suprised they say the same exact thing , same history. I felt like I was in a twilight zone. How could they say the same thing and still create so much hatred? Because people see what they want to see.. and not with a pure heart to truly understand and see us as equals. Because people would rather be right then know. So thats where we learn from science a valuable lesson. If you go seeking.. without prejudice.. truth reveals itself and then you can stand on facts and your behavior.. rather then “because Allah said” . When people act badly’ but demand following .. It turns people away . If you stand up for someone. Or inspire them.. They Are more likely to ask and want to know about how you know that or go seeking like you did to see. And to go seeking with Truth and God.. is like the most fun treasure hunt .. God gave us laws to protect us from hurting each-other . Ie: dont lie or hurt each other. The rest is about your own personal journey with God.. thats fun and interesting. You feel like a child constantly getting caught up on things .. and then he puts you back like a dirty mudkin’ and says go explore again.. but this time stay away from that bluff.. God is not afraid of your challenge. Hes big enough to Go with you and See and help you.. and be questioned. And every single time ive argued he was wrong.. 3 years later he was right and i feel bad .. But He didnt stop me from questioning him or the world.. he openly encouraged it.. cuz hes God lol you serioysly think a measly questioning human is gonna get around God. Hes the size of the universe lol and Thats as far aa i could Go. Who knows whats behind that. So the challenge is: what if you go looking to swe thd similarities rather then believinh Gods hand isnt over shadowing Freud.. or Darwin.. cuz that in itself shows we dont know everything and if you say “that cant be” he then proves us wrong in science.. lol so thats a clue’ Steven Hawking Stated he didnt think God existed.. and that was weird to me .. because deapite having zero reason he should have medicay lived or scientifically been that .. HE WAS PROOF God Exists. Because when there no explanation. Thats a miracle. And that was sad to me that steven didnt see himself as a miracle of God . But its all in what our motives are in intension. Why seek to prove The Bible wrong. When you could prove it write. Why not See where the Quran supports the Torah.. why not look to see that Abraham experimented going to explore Outside his home’ to new lands.. and found a new way. Its about what goal your tryin for.. That demonstrates intension and if you seek .. you will find God in everything and its like finding Gold and ur some funny leper’con. Lol

I don't mean to sound arrogant... but while these terms like 'narcissist', 'toxic' and the like are misused/ misquoted, I believe these terms, when used correctly, *are* very helpful! As you said, narcissists do exist! In one of your lectures, you had said that if your brother is an angry person, we can keep respectfully distant from him... it's not wrong to stay away from toxic or abusive people, is it..? Please also add that part to your lecture! By the way, telling the harsh truth is not gaslighting. The opposite is true....

I am a student of psychology, but my childhood or teenage years i have had good foundations of islam. and My ustadha she always taught that quran is your life manual, how to live life by it. Now when i learn concepts in psychology, it reminds me that not all of it is correct, theres hundred of researches still need to made, the subject is still new. So alhumdulillah, I have a good sense to make out whats rubbish in it. and to not look at everything without including quran in it. 😊

I always wondered since I came to know about these terms like setting up your boundaries, avoiding toxic people and all other terms, that what about dealing with these things with sabr when you don't have another choice. Means what about Good Akhlaq then which is required when dealing with such matters. Yes, sometimes you need to take actions for yourself, but not all the time it works out. Sometimes you have to deal with it with patience and making Dua so that Allah makes it easy for you. P.s. I can be wrong. It's just what I think
