I get what you're saying going near the relative major/minor, but a full step for the final chorus has been a kpop trope forever. Pop instrumentals have seemed increasingly lazy for past couple of decades, with kpop handling it with the vocal layering. Dreamcatcher being a major standout, doing both exceptionally well. I see a lot of potential with QWER, I suspect some loose 2nd Gen connections, but haven't found any definitive links.
