Röyksopp - Profound Mysteries | Continuous Visual Experience 

I am 70+ years old. My son, turning 30 this year, introduced me to this creative duo maybe 10 ~ 12 yrs ago. They are amazing. We saw them live @ an outdoor concert near Seattle (Marymoor Park) with Robyn in Jun 2014. Now, with the addition of VISUAL, they create what is as close to a psychedelic experience as one can have without the use of any additional stimulant. I should probably add ... I have NOT used any such substance, ZERO, since the mid '80s. Maybe by that point it was enough to last a lifetime ... who knows? Let us just hope they continue on their remarkable journey. I, for one, will be along for the ride.

The fact that they came back with an album gives me IMMENSE hope to see them live one day.

Today, no more skinners, headphones, or records. However I have CD's, streaming, and Royksopp. Brilliant! 😊

Back when they released the excellent single Never Ever w/ Susanne Sundfør, I remember posting a reply to someone's youtube comment (that has since been deleted? maybe?) about how I thought Röyksopp were selling themselves short by forgoing the album format in favor of single releases only, and that I wished they would release an album that flows from track to track telling a kind of story, like my favorite DJ mixes and mixtapes. Of course, I can't be sure of the likelihood that Röyksopp read my comment, let alone that it would have had any effect on their decision-making if they did, but what I can be sure of is that this album has far exceeded my wildest expectations. The engaging aesthetic and lore, the continuous visual experience and official videos, Profound Mysteries is a fantastic dream; I am elated. Thank you, Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland, for another excellent album and experience!

I just texted my sister describing this as something between Massive Attack and Pink Floyd and anything else that's absolutely beautiful. I didn't even get to talking about Alison Goldfrapp. I prostrate before thee!

album of the year so far wow i cant think of a 2022 full album that matches this. this feels futuristic but i still hear beloved roksyopp from decades ago damn near its great

this album came out in a period of great illness of me but it proves a great healing experience and source of optimism. I'm so happy and grateful that those geniuses are continuing making music.

In 2005 listening to “beautiful day without you” to help me through my first heartbreak. Now hearing “the mourning sun” for the first time and can’t help but picture my daughters face. Royksopp forever.🥲

I am in total awe!!! The first track is an experience of mind, soul and dreams the bass just melts me when it comes in. These guys are so amazing at making music come alive such depth and imagination I love it!. I'm doing my BA SOUND PRODUCTION this year and all the inspiration i need is here, going to emulate this sound soon!!! Scandinavia, where music comes alive!!
