These type of places with high human traffic get there ropes changed often 1 to prevent someone getting hurt 2 because it’s used so frequently it needs to be replaced anyway
@@aidanbeanss5870 it looks frayed and worst of All, it has a decent amount of dirt in it which does compromise it very quickly. However, I could be totally wrong.
@@thelklad7940 let me explain to the best of my knowledge good sir or mama, basically there’s so much tension on that rope from stopping/pulling in the boat to dock that it could snap and whip the fuck outta those smooth brain individuals :)
Only a Rocket Scientist, Neurosurgeon, Archaeologist, Stem Cell Scientist, Lawyer, Architect, Bridge Builder, Jet Pilot, Heart Surgeon, NASA Administrator, Marine Biologist would stand behind stretching ship rope in the “snapping zone”
Guessing it's in Venice. Those boats become very busy so you often get very little space. Also, when the boats approach a stop, everyone goes towards the exit ready to leave as there is often a build-up of passengers. You're welcome. 😂
Hmmm, I don't see either anchoring either component even beginning to flex or show signs of weakness in any way. I believe that each component has been engineered and tested to be in use today. Ask OSHA. The rope of course is also not something that you buy down at your local five and dime or hardware store. However this place might sell these type of supplies. But this rope has requirements it must meet in order to meet safety standards. There isn't any doubt that calculations have been made and this rope's ratings are considered before purchase. Yes in some cases people do not follow safety guidelines and things happen. The rope is by far the weakest link and justly so. For this can easily be replaced if and when that time comes. Which unless there is an order to change out at certain dates this would be still in use for years to come. I think the point of the video was to show how this young man had his job down pat. And how he put just the right wraps on the rope to gently and smoothly come to rest and then opened the gate to help passengers off the vessel.
@@ipulkeriting8652 bukan tukang komplen, emang SOP nya harusnya gitu pak.
Nah its fine went to venice they use this probaly the best way to stop a boat quickly if I'm being honest your not going to get your hands trapped cuz there was a guy standing there and them ropes are strong
@@abhishekr8024because he has no idea how much danger he is in. In life, you have to realize the only person that can stop you from getting hurt is yourself. You should constantly be asking yourself, if something went wrong right now, where should I not be? It becomes subconscious after a while. You especially learn this working in very dangerous environments, such as working with ships mooring lines. Lines under that much tension, can literally cut a human in half when they break. Seriously, theres tons of video evidence. Other examples are not putting parts of yourself where it could get smashed if a piece of equipment fails, never trusting hydraulic lines, and, in general, dont touch random stuff unless you fully understand what you are touching. Will prevent you from getting burned, broken, sliced, hydraulically injected, smashed or frozen to something. In this video, you dont want to be standing where that line will want to be when it breaks, you dont want to wrap your fingers into a pinch point, you want to give someone working with line on a boat space
ITS FINE I went to venice best way to stop a boat it's not going to snap your not going to get your hands stuck cuz a guy is there its fine stop worrying
