@phoenixmapping932 r 73 is the strongest missile in its category, but it's not that far from 9l, all you need to do is turn off afterburner and use flares😂
@@hansohasashi5093 This is simply incorrect. You can play with complete accuracy, and the missile will not lose lock. It is almost impossible to defeat within 2km unless you're pre-flaring
R73 has variable optic FOV. Within a certain range the optics will change its field of view making it smaller allowing it to on focus on the aircraft not on the flares. Try to flare a R73 within 2km it won’t work.
yep, and i renember when SRAAM's on harrier gr.1 were this fun, now they barelly pull 20G's, have shit acceleration, and only damn 3.7 *Seconds* of flight time until it explodes making it one of most shit missiles that even R-3S is more relaliable
@@sniperh2o325depends on vehicle, range and aspect, if in a an f14 and a missile is fired from around 1.5kms from rear aspect you aren't getting away from it, Matawg has already gone in and tested it. He was flying an F14 flared out the are dropped throttle to 0 and the missile still tracked and killed him
Non-Russian players seeing Russia once again get a MASSIVE buff even though the MiG-29 was already the best jet in top tier. Britain is still missing Aim-9Ls on half their aircraft despite being the first nation to use them in a large-scale conflict lmao (also the Tornado is utter trash).
Reminds me of hearts of Iron 4's tech tree for the uk someone showed me. Despite the icon using the Independent, they don't know how to build post ww1 heavy tanks. He showed me russia and germany do. just wait when Gaijin get their hands on Python-5 and try to recreate the fact that thing can loop around and come back hitting the same jet it gets fired from. the 9X sidewinder can also do ridiculous things, the R-73 isn't even that big of a deal next to those. Realistically no one seen what does missiles are capable off in reality, its all speculation from seeing the missiles, I mean, the Python-5 has sensors all over it, similar to 9X, the modern R-73Ms would probably be the same.
The R-73 can loop around: it's just you've no way to tell the missile to do that. The Python 5 is also a purely aerodynamic missile, so even if the israelis say it is as maneuverable as any other missile with thrust vectoring...almost by definition, it is not as agile. I don't doubt that for all practical purposes it is just as agile, but it doesn't have non-aerodynamic controls, so it's technically limited in that respect.
This one missle has single handedly broken top tier. Russia already had a good close range all aspect, and a good far range radar missle. Now it also has two new ir missles that can do both. And noone else can compete.

I would recommend the premium Sabre or T-2, but I don’t think either of those are available anymore. And they’re also in bad spots. All I can wish to you is good luck. Luckily you’ll get the 3rd best F-16 in game once you’re done, since now there will be the F-16C and D variants. Unless Japan gets something this patch.

The ones that killed the normal top tier during their introduction because people would take 6 of them, climb to space, fire them, hit jack shit and then go back to the airfield to rearm to do the same thing over again? In my entire time of playing top tier I think I have only ever been killed by the phoenix twice.
