Just an amazing lyrical sound to the chords played here! You sound closest to the old school sound I love in soul/r&b - very unique deep, soulful timbre straight from the soul.
Bro you are amazing with the axe. You inspire me to want to learn... I never get bored with your videos... keep them coming. Blessing to you and your family!!!!
My favorite!!!! Saw your performances of this. This is so dope!!!! Awesome lesson!!!!!! So tired of seeing others give horrible lessons on this song. This is the real deal!! So excited!!
Ayyye man, as a bass player working on my guitar playing your channel has helped me keep from playing my guitar like my bass. I really dig your playing and teaching style. Keep on doing it man , thanks!
Kerry, you are officially my favorite guitarist on RU-vid, your teaching style is so clear and easy to follow !! I can't wait to sign up to all your courses soon, (Let's just say I work in N.Y. and things are a little busy for me right now!) Beautiful family btw. As always thanks.
Thanks for the wisdom here. Definitely love being a Kerry's Kamper!!! Your course/lessons have changed my playing. I feel so much more connected to guitar and music, thanks so much Kerry and team!
Using the tremolo bridge with your hand instead of the armature is probably the most inspired hack of a strat I have ever seen. I assume the springs in the back must be fairly loose to accommodate this.
You posted a lesson a while back showing one of your favorite special chords, it fits perfectly to transition between the Fmaj7 and the Dm7. Cant remember the name but in this context it'd be 12 on the G, 10 on the B and 8 on the high E
Amazing lesson Kerry!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 Would you do “mad at me” some time, I love that acoustic version of that song you both played. Keep it up man, deep respect!!!
Kerry, how do you have your trem set so you get that response with your wrist and no bar? Do you remove the middle spring in the back or have it floating pretty high? Thanks......
Love yr work been following you for some time just have a question what is your preference for picks iv been using a jazz2 heavy pick is it better to use light or medium?love to hear your take on it.
K2S, your videos seem to be kind similar but finally always helpful, instructive because there is always a new piece of information that you did not mention on a previous video. By the way, I have a question. As guitar player, do you think you have to be able To play acoustic guitar and bass guitar? If so at the same level? Last question, if you play only RNB, is it necessary To learn others styles? If so could you please give some example? Thank you.
Consistency is important, that’s why I always teach the same way. You don’t have to play acoustic or base, and if R&B is the only shower that you want to learn how to play then that’s fine. There’s no rule that says you have to learn how to play other genres it’s good to be versatile but you’re not required to play other genres if you only like one.
They new Grafik Element are very much helpful. Dope 👍🏽 Is somebody here who can explain me the difference between (whatever) and (what so ever) please? Thank you.
He's using the F shape with the third finger fretting on the fifth fret. So, that's a G major chord. The shapes are movable, so that shape can create a chord for any letter you root it on.
Thank you for the lesson, kerry . I'm sorry but Im confused - The F Major 7 sounds really good but I don't see when you use it in the progression since at 6.30, you mentioned your first chord is the D (Dminor7) but at the beginning of your lesson (around 2.30), you started the progression from the F major 7.
Kerry you are leaving out vital information, this is a 7265 progression in the key ofC😭 you have got to tell your students this one important thing, keep in mind that we are dealing with the number system
I obviously like a lot of what you are playing, but MAN! You are frustrating to watch you play the same progression different ways at least a third of the time. It would be fine if you at least talked about it, but I don't think you are even aware of it most of the time.
