Why is the gospel not for the unbelievers

Very true. It is imperative we test the spirits against God's Word, the holy Bible - and remain alert. 1 John 4:1 "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world."

I think they say that b/c the Gospel is not just Jesus dying on the cross to forgive sins. Anyone can understand the story, but only believers appreciate it and identify with it. The father of a friend of mine who is a devout unwavering Christian once said that an unbeliever won't understand the Bible...there's nothing in it for them. The only thing an unbeliever needs to do is repent. @@1971AEDWARDS

@@connorlancaster7541 I worship no man and Jesus is Lord. RC Sproul was instrumental in helping me get out of the False Teaching of the Pentecostal Church. He taught me how to read scripture in definition and culture. I am forever grateful that God used him to reach people like me .

Gospelogian I am sorry but you have missed the gospel just like Sproul has. Who received the gospel for us Gentiles? Who was commissioned to deliver it? The apostle Paul and he was appointed by the very Lord who appeared to him in person after the Resurrection on the road to Damascus Acts 9. The Lord told him He would sent him to the Gentiles, us. That gospel is found in 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4

Guy Black , Jesus was claiming to be the "I Am", that God told Moses to call Him while Moses was on the mountain. He was also claiming that He existed BEFORE Abraham was born! That's why the people picked up stones to stone Jesus, because, as they said, "You, being a man, make yourself out to be God". Because in their minds, that's exactly what he was claiming! And if you keep reading the passage, Jesus DID NOT deny it!

You are all taking this so literally....... the Jesus story is an allegory .... a retelling of the eternal virgin birth, death and resurrection story that has been told since time began. Don't just read the Bible and say that it, that's the way it was. Do your home work.

Absolutely true! Not everyone who professes faith IN JESUS CHRIST is truly saved. But, people are easily swayed by flattering words and glowing revelations of their experiences. Simply, the GOSPEL is the TRUTH of GOD'S work to re-establish our live to GOD'S purpose: not for us but for HIM. GOD is Creator/Redeemer and is wanting to get us to see that HIS purpose is to get us into a position where HE can Forgive us that we might be useful in carrying out HIS reason for our existence!❤️❤️❤️

Mark, the Gospel that you referenced DOES NOT apply to the Gentile Body of Christ which is His church in the HEAVENLIES. You are referring to the Kingdom Gospel which is the Earthly Kingdom of God, the Keys to which were given by God to the Jewish "little flock". Jesus speaks and says, "Fear not little flock: for it is your Father's good pleasure to give to you the Kingdom." Luke 12:32. *This is the Earthly kingdom of God from which the Lord Jesus Christ will Rule and Reign over for a Thousand years. NOTE! The Four Gospels DO NOT apply to the Gentile Body of Christ, His Church in the Heavenlies and who's Apostle is Paul. The entire Bible is written to and about Israel and the Jewish people. Only the books of Paul, Romans through Philemon apply to the Gentile (and Jewish) Body of Christ, PERIOD. This is God's Will for us Today, as we are no longer under the Law of Moses but the whole World is under God's Administration of GRACE.❤

Paul unceasing in preaching the Kingdom to the Elders of Ephesus (Ac 20) was a strictly Jewish thing though he testified both to Jews and Greeks? Philip (Ac 8) preaching the things concerning the Kingdom in Samaria was a Jewish thing, mutual animosity notwithstanding? That must be special information to which I wasn't privy. Thanks for your help. John Foxe made an interesting assessment in his Book of Martyrs around the time of the 7th Roman Persecution in chapter 2. As I recall he said about this time great errors crept into the Church because reason was in competition with revelation. I don't know what's changed. It sounds just like Greek Rationalism to me. Yet another idolatry for us to deal with. I Cor 2 is entirely about the priority of revelation. Rom 8 is entirely about walking in, being led by, following the Holy Spirit. I Jn 2 tells us we know things by the unction and are taught by the anointing. Jesus said in Jn 10 My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow Me. Thus, Spiritual Realities are not apprehended by cogitation, but by revelation. As God said to Isaiah, My ways and thoughts are higher than yours. Clearly we think too much and listen too little. Period.
