R/C Steamboat's Shakedown Cruise 

Daylight, our steam videos get very little attention, so thanks for commenting. There are a lot of little moving parts to this Graham VR1-A engine kit. A single servo moves the Stephenson reversing gear linkage, while additional servo advance also regulates the throttle both ahead and astern. The rudder quadrant's movement and launchman's arm are operated via 2 additional servos plugged into the same rx channel.

Gus diZerega Gus, thanks for watching! It's shown at full throttle in the video, only around 2-3 mph but still faster than scale speed.

The ambient temperature dictates the initial run time, as a sizable amount of fuel is needed just to warm up engine and its associated piping. The first run of the day may only yield around 5-6 minutes of steaming, depending on throttle management.. but after refueling and replenishing boiler water from a hot source like a thermos, up to ten minute runs can be achieved.
