@@eg568 to be fair, there *are* several good reasons to be against adoption, especially when it involves taking babies from women who would have kept and raised those babies, but other people have unfairly judged to be "unfit mothers" due to moralistic reasoning (aka forced adoption). Adoption is a lottery and doesn't always give the child a better life - sometimes it's actually worse than what they would have had, and some foster/potential adopted kids have been murdered by their 'new parents'. Personally, while my a-family were better off, financially, there was still a lot of dysfunction and my adoptive dad had the same issues (bipolar, addiction) that my birth mum and dad struggled with. Plus, he was sexually attracted to me since I hit puberty and I was never really defended from that by the other adults, even if I tried to speak up about it. My experience isn't unique, either. I get bio parents can be abusers, too, everyone's experience is a mixed bag on both sides, but some people act like adopters are all saintly and superior, rather than also being flawed people like everyone else. Not everyone adopts for selfless, altruistic reasons, after all. It would still take a LOT more than a RU-vid comment to really explain all the reasons why adoption isn't always a good thing, even though it's a necessary evil at times and most people gloss over the negatives, even though they can have a significant impact on everyone involved (aka the 'adoptee triangle - which includes the birth parent(s), adoptive parents and the adoptee themselves). Adoptees can suffer from a lifetime of psychological damage from being separated from their birth mothers/parents, even if they were separated as newborns and were never told about it, and many who do know they're adopted don't always come to realise or acknowledge the impact it had on them. I am adopted and have two new-ish friends who were also adopted - while one of them denies it ever bothered him, they're both messed up (drugs, alcohol and just generally very chaotic people in general). One of my bio cousins is also adopted, never met him but it sounds like he has significant issues from what my bio aunt told me (she's his birth mother - they tried to reconcile, but it went badly). All that said, while there are risks involved with C-sections, I still agree it is insane to insinuate that people who have them aren't real mothers.

At the barnes and noble in a nearby (read, 1 hour drive away) city, they literally have a separate manga shelf that's just lgbtq and i was surprised by how much was shrinkwrapped. Also after the untamed became super popular the books got an official english translation (actually everything by that author) and that's started more lgbtq novels showing up on the shelves. They just have stands of lgbtq works around, too. Best of all, the staff there have been really open about liking those works. You bring anything up to the counter and you don't have to worry about them judging you. Things are moving in the right direction

I guess the women fighters came back with lots of shoulder and shin injuries, so they reinforced those areas and left the chest, belly and thigh area bare. So I would imagine the result was that less women came back injured. (Or, y'know, at all).

Y'know, whenever I see any of these conspiracy-theory posts about COVID-19 that vomit out the words, "spike protein," I always wonder _what_ they think a spike protein is? Because they clearly don't realize its the part of the outer-coating on many, many kinds of viruses used to latch onto the cell being infected… Also, I have a speculation that you may be able to confirm or correct: I suspect that all of the people who developed heart-problems from the COVID-19 vaccine would've developed those same problems from a COVID-19 infection. Or would've developed Guilain-Barre [sp] Syndrome after a COVID-19 infection.

@@John_Weiss Up front, I am a laboratory scientist and not a medical doctor. But I do keep up with the literature so I know what I'm looking at (and because I'm the go-to COVID-19 explainer for my entire family). Cardiac irregularities and maladies developing soon after vaccination occurs at lower rates and with less severity than unvaccinated patients after testing positive for COVID-19. This includes blood clots, which was a concern in early 2021 with the J&J vaccine but after further study was shown to not occur with increased frequency beyond usually occurring rates of blood clots. As for Guillain-Barre syndrome, this also occurs at much higher rates among patients who have testes positive than those who have never been confirmed positive but have received the vaccine. Since the syndrome is caused by an improper immune response, it is expected to see some cases from vaccination alone. But it's much more likely to occur as a result of the virus itself, which stresses the immune system much more and is thus more likely to result in Guilliam-Barre.

Yup. I get "I hate that people get so angry if you make a mistake and happen to mis-pronoun them" a lot. And I have to explain that I or them have never experienced that, that is just something they have heard trans people get irrationally angry about.
