I am saddened to hear that Coco Lee died last night after her struggle with depression. How terrible to have a loss of this beautiful soul.
I recorded this a few weeks ago, paying tribute to this fabulous woman.

She was a Hong Kong born pop singer,one of the greatest divas china has ever had. Growing up in the USA, her music style was greatly influenced by r&b. She wasn’t only a good singer but a good dancer too. Her death is a huge loss to the whole C-pop industry.

RIP. she committed suicide and was hospitalized few days ago . She passed away a few hours ago today. She performed in the Oscar more than 20 years ago and her musical career was mostly in Asia.

Thank you Zoe for your great analysis. I've been a fan of CoCo Lee for almost 30 years. She was considered as a Pop singer or more like a R&B influenced Pop. Although, once in a while, she'd perform a Rock song live on stage. Her range of genre is really wide.

I would say, CoCo Lee is the best Asian singer in English songs, I can't see anyone can do better than her till this moment. she is such talent Artist not only in Singing but Dancing, music productioin, she do fill in lyrics for songs. She do lots of music arrangement also. she is talent artist, perfect and great, Her dealth is a great lost to the world

coco lee has 2 english album《Just No other way》1999 and 《Exposed》...............1990S, she was called Mariah Carey of Asia....pop singer....is her best song...

Loved your video! Thanks for your generous words for Coco. To answer your question in the video, Coco Lee is a R&B pop singer. She once said she would never do rock and roll until in recent years she released or performed a couple of rock’n’roll songs. Her music (mostly in Mandarin) was edgy and influential and topped the charts through late 90s and 00s in Taiwan, mainland China and other asian countries.
