Hi Stripey, Sorry for your loss my friend. I had to put my German Shepherd to sleep in 2003 and I digged his grave in our back garden the day before because we knew what was coming. My mother and brother went out the day he was put to sleep as it was too difficult for them so I stayed with the Vet as he did it. Believe me my friend, I looked up that day and did some praying. It cut me up big time. Pets see us through some life changing events Stripey. When my father passed away, our German Shepherd was walking up and down sniffing in the air days after. That was errie, but animals pick up on some things my friend that the human eye cannot see. One day at a time my friend. Sending you and your family warmest of wishes. I lost my beloved cat in February of this year, and my heart is still in pain. I pray every day that he will live happily in heaven. We are both in pain, but let's do our best for the sake of the cat.
i feel for you bud, my cat was run over and left another driver saw this and rushed to a local vet, unfortunately he couldn't be saved , after being informed and going to pick him up i broke down and cried my eyes out in the vets and all the way home as i carried him in his fav blanket . RIP Bruce .

I got a Persian cat when I was 12 years old. Named him Cloud. 22 years he lasted. I'm 50 now and I still tear up when I think of the day we lost him. You have my sympathy Stripey and my admiration for giving Bruce Lee the best life he could have ever lived for 19 long years. Nice one mate.

I lost my cat in last september 2023, and she was born in 2005 too. It's a very hard moment... The best thing is too keep remember the best moments. These little fellows will always live in our hearts ! Bruce had a beautiful and long life without any doubt. ❤

I understand what that bond means: when you connect with a pet, it's really special. For the folks who don't understand human-animal bonds: it's because it hasn't happened to you yet. Cats are beautiful beings and their affection for us is genuine. It's no surprise when people prefer pets over other humans! Animals are sincere and innocent and they don't play the weird games humans play with one another in relationships. Stripey, please take all the time you need to manage and settle your feelings, because I know a moment like this can make the things we do for enjoyment seem less important when significant life events happen. Hi Stripey, so sorry to hear of Bruce The Cat's passing after a long and healthy life of 19 years. It must be like losing a family member mate, because let's face it, that's exactly what our pets become. We used to have a Cockatiel who died in 2009 at just 8 years old, and he was my little mate. So funny & playful, I still miss him now. It's hard when a well loved pet passes away, we had the same experience at the vet's that you did, and left without our wee pal, so I understand what you are going through, it is devastating....All the best to you & the family.😢

Be strong and try to welcome another animal (cat or dog any other kind) because once you have shared your life with an animal, it's just impossible to live without having one around you. I'm a dog person myself Darren, i know exactly how you feel mate, but my beautiful late partner of 22yrs passed away 5yrs ago Jan 3rd gone, and she loved cats she had a cat called Marley, after Bob Marley, he got stolen on her, so sorry to hear that you definitely grow very close to your pet, my miniature Yorkshire terrier Ricky got knocked down and the bloke followed me into my garden, i knocked him out with a swift blow to the jaw, the poor dog was dragged halfway down the road, my partner said he fell like a ton of bricks, 🙈 again so very sorry pal 🙏🍀🇮🇪🍀🙏😞😔
RIP Bruce Lee. I had dog for 17 or 18 years and was sad when passed. I lost my appetite for a while, the evening would be nearing and i realised id not eaten anything all day. Vets must have loved your cats name
Sorry Stripey I lost my pet dogs over the years and got 2 that are on their last years. They really tear our hearts out when they go, but it is bittersweet. If it didn't hurt, ya didn't love. Remember that. Bruce is no longer in pain, that is what matters. R.I.P. to your friend that touched you in way where you will never go back again the same. And as for, "Just a cat" my ass...animals are better than people in so many ways, so to anyone that says that, I say...well they are just another person in a long line of dim bulbs that don't know any better!

I'm really sorry to hear this. I visited my ex-wife recently, and the cat we had for 18 years had a lump on his mouth, and my ex-wife couldn't get him in a box to take him to the vet. He was really well behaved for me, and let me put him in the box. It turned out to be cancer, and he had to be put to sleep. It broke my heart, and he looked just like your Bruce Lee ❤ I totally understand how you feel. Take all the time you need, Mate 👍
