R.I.P Fuji 400H 

Timing on this video was unfortunate...

I don't take pictures on film. Even enjoying the experience a lot, living in Brazil is an awfully expensive process. I end up doing more digital photo and, honestly, for me it's ideal. Still, I watch absolutely all of your videos. More than the debate about the films, the characteristics of each one and your process with them ... I genuinely love the way you speak. In a world with so much youtuber, even more in our area, screaming for attention, giving absurd tips and always surfing 'the trend of the week', your calm tone and extremely high-quality content is a relief. I've been watching your channel for a long time and whenever I need to get inspired, relax and motivate ... I end up here, watching your videos. Thank you very much. =) (BTW, Wasn't the pro400h that fuji announced the end of manufacturing today?)

Another masterclass. You got the right film, used the right camera and produced absolutely stunning woodland photographs. Thanks for sharing your expertise and knowledge once again.

For me, this must be one of your most satisfying video’s. Very beautiful landscape, and wonderfully atmospheric and intimate. Your photo’s are stunning. The photo (4:32) with the one tree and the weeds in the water is dreamlike, to me, which I love. The photo at 7:32 is one of my favorites too, as it has a meditative feeling to it, where the gaze is quietly guided round in circles as if studying a mandala. If only I could appreciate real good prints on real good paper. Thank you Steve.

Those two last frames are masterpieces! I love your subtle style of photography, your landscapes don't bite eyes with vivd colors and punchy contrast. They are very moody and pastele... Just love that!

One of my "Go To" places as well, got a lovely reflections image exactly a year ago. As you said Steve it seems to have a special colour pallet all year round.

I know that location well Steve so can fully appreciate the opportunities it presents. Your penultimate image is superb, it fills the frame with interest and has the subtle copper colours in the centre for added impact. A great shot.

Beautiful images as always! 04:26 There is so much detail even without the polariser, small reflections on the image look more natural, polariser may have taken off that completely

Great video again Steve. I just got the results of my first ever roll of colour negative back... Portra 160 in this instance. I rated it at 100 and further overexposed it by 1-2 stops and was amazed at how much more I feel as though I could have pushed it

Steve, you inspired me to dust off my Fujifilm GW670, load it with long-since expired FP4, and go for a walk along the canal. Problem was, the battery in my sekonic was dead, so I had to guess exposures (remembering to compensate for expired film and yellow filter). We'll see what the results are.

Pro400H was my all time favorite film and then Fuji decided to go and discontinue it!!! 🥺😩

Pro 400H is my favorite all purpose film to shoot, especially when there is a lot of green like you said.

Another enjoyable video! I was wondering if you had a preference btwn the shot with the 80mm w/extender vs the 150 and if so why? FWIW, I preferred the composition with the 80. Look forward to your next post.

Watched and learned more, again! I found prints from Fuji 400H slightly disapointing in saturation. When doing pro work, I preffered stronger colours. I used Kodak Gold. I knew most folks then (the past) used that film. I didn't want to be told, why are your colour so muted!? Your colours lovely. I can barely imagine how good, in reality. Medium format kills 35mm. Sadly my pricing, prevented the better way! Bravo.

Love your videos even more in 4k. Stunning images as always, they really give a sense of peace.

Oh, my, the image at 7:33 just takes my breath away! Interesting to contrast our respective woodlands in winter. Here, except for infrequent rhododendrons and lichen on bark, there is almost no green. The reds & browns strongly dominate. How I wish Kodachrome was still manufactured! Nice presentation and good photos as always. I've never shot much with 400 ISO color film. I didn't like the grain and the rather washed out look that it often gives. It was good to see the results with the Fuji 400H film

I quite like 160NS for most color stuff I have tried to date. But that extra 1+ stop would be nice from time to time :)

You're so right about mossy trees. My first week with my camera, I did so many tree moss shots and they just don't come out how you hope. You seem to have cracked it though!

I was thinking polarizer because I thought you were going to lose all the weeds under the water, but I there was just the right balance of what you could see and reflection.

Beautiful Colors! The 2nd from last image is fantastic...the greens really add depth to the image.

Enjoyed this very much Steve. It's my intention in this ear if we can get out to explore more woodland scenes, particularly anything with a wet woodland type area like Delamere etc. Loved the look of this place and was curious as to where in North Wales you were shooting ? Sublime location and images. Just picked up some F400H for work with the bronica which will be used for inspiration and ref for egg tempera paintings. I’m finding that working with film aligns with my work in charcoal, watercolor and egg tempera in ways that digital can’t compete with. Love the subtle colors you got out of this beautiful location and the music is always a treat. Thanks for sharing your works and technique. I always keep a notebook handy when viewing your videos.

I really wish Fuji gave us some color negative films in sheet sizes. One of the reasons I don't use 400H all that much, though it is a lovely film! And beautiful shots as always Steve!

What a beautiful location! "It's just a pond." It was lovely, great greens, great vibe of life, every view, every direction was a treat. I would call it a shock that went thru my body as I saw it. Cold water for a thirsty man - I live in the Antelope Valley and it is mostly desert sands, rock, cactus and shrub. I am from Ohio and grew up with intense green like you just showcased. Another very pleasant visit to your neighborhood. Nice tech stuff too.
