Life with Louie introduced me to him as a kid. Everytime I saw him afterwards it was like seeing a childhood friend. He will be missed

Of course he remembered you, he remembered everyone. I used to serve him Bloody Mary's at the pool in the Embassy Suites here in Minneapolis back in 1986, and later in 1999 Christmas I was renting a car at the Enterprise on Lake Street, and who should pop on in for a car but Louie himself, and sure as shit he remembered me from the pool! He was a Class Act no doubt about it, God I'll miss him.................................................

Most of the more severe illnesses happen to people because an upsetting event occurs in their lives taking them by surprise, unexpectedly, impacting first in the brain, then in the corresponding organ which that part of the brain controls. The end of WWI had absolutely everything to do with the Flu and lung TB outbreak that occurred killing millions. In nature, the biological conflict linked with a territorial fear (just what it means-a fear in your territory, your home, your community, etc.) is a widening of the bronchia (tissue loss). Your body attempts to widen your bronchia in order to allow more air into your lungs to give you more strength and energy to fight to keep your territory safe. Stay with me.......The biological conflict linked with a death fright impacts the lungs. The lungs attempt to grow larger in order to allow more air in because breath equals life, as we all know. No breath equals death. While you are in the fear or death fright conflict, you notice no symptoms of “disease”, except you have cold hands, cold feet, you can’t sleep, you awaken at 3 AM every night, you have little appetite. During the war, millions of people were in fear of the bombing of their homes and cities where the war was most active. Fearing for their lives, their loved ones in the war, their ability to survive. The food in the stores was sparse due to shortages. This lasted for 4 long years! The longer the conflict, the worse the healing phase. Within 2 weeks of the German Chancellor announcing the end of WWI, these millions of people ALL went into the healing phase all at the same time. It is during the healing phase that you experience symptoms of illness! What is the healing phase of the bronchia widening? Severe bronchitis, pneumonia. The body attempts to refill this lost tissue and you experience inflammation, fever, coughing, body aches, fatigue, etc. What is the healing phase of the extra lung tissue that grew? Decomposing of the tissue by TB bacteria and fungi. The symptoms of this healing phase are: severe coughing up of blood and tissue, fever, inflammation, severe mucous, body aches, fatigue. During this decomposing of the extra tissue (tumor), the body expels a lot of protein, and without replenishment, severe protein loss can result in death. Antibiotics did not exist yet. If TB bacteria does not exist in a person or they have been vaccinated against TB (big mistake), then the tumor will simply encapsulate and become dormant and not harm you. Who died during the Spanish Flu? Mainly the poor who could not afford to buy meat and proper nourishment, and the people who were directly impacted by the bombings and destruction of their homes. Millions of people suffered fear and death frights during the fighting of WWI, and millions of people all went into healing at the end of it. Not everyone was affected because not everyone suffered the same way. It’s not a “flu”, it’s not something you “catch”. It’s biological, meaningful, and unavoidable. One hundred years later, a Fear Campaign begins, using the media to spread it......

It was 1998 or 99, and I was in a really bad place in my life. Super depressed, separated from my wife, shit job, you know the story. I decided to walk down to Hastings, about a half mile from my little 1 bedroom apartment, and rent a movie. After spending like an hour and a half just aimlessly looking around I grabbed a VHS Loui Anderson standup special. That night I sat alone on my semi comfortable futon and laughed harder than I ever remember laughing in my life. It got me over the hump. Looking back on that time, I wonder if Loui Anderson maybe didn't save my life.

Wow. Glad you’re still around. I love Louie Anderson but it was Bo Burnhams Netflix Special, Make Happy, that kind of had the same effect on me. It was funny but also made me think and come to some realizations about life and shit. Although I don’t think my situation was as dire as yours. I had depression but wasn’t suicidal (btw that’s not a brag, just pointing it out. Reading it back it sounded like a brag lol). I did just lose a very close friend at that time but the depression was already lingering before that. I just remember in the morning feeling like shit, already planned in my head that I’m just gonna sleep the day. I went on Netflix to fall asleep to something and it was just right there and I’ve been a fan of Bo’s since his early RU-vid days and he’s from Boston, like me and Bill up there, and many others.

Years ago Louie was doing a weekend set at Mystic Lake Casino in Minnesota. I wanted to go so bad, I loved that HBO special he did and watched the VHS (yes, VHS) all the time growing up. I couldn't go though because it was a school night. My dad did go though and he had a chance to do a meet and greet with Louie before the show. He was from Saint Paul, MN. My mom grew up around the corner from him. Super nice guy and those stories he would tell on stage about his family, especially his mom were real. The best, sad to see ya go, Louie, say hi to Tommy's mom, Toots. ✌❤

Louie Anderson was the king of the "call back" joke.. where he relates a joke to something he previously talked about, to hilarious effect. He was brilliant.

I'm one of those who never saw his stand up. I got introduced to him through Life with Louie(first the specials then the show itself). I will be looking up more of his work. A true shame we lost him. RIP to one of those who made my younger years brighter.

I was a fan of Louie's since his first Carson appearance. He was always a joy to watch. Homeless man "Hey buddy, can you help me with a sandwich? Louie: "Sure, where is it?" .... I'm sure I butchered that joke... I also loved him in Baskets. If there was ever perfect casting, that was it! Rest in piece, Louie!

Loved him in Baskets. Weirdly believable as a woman. I didn’t like the show at first, because it was so dark and I was in a bad place myself. But, by the end of the show, I loved it and Christine Baskets was absolutely my favorite character.

I love Louie Anderson. One of my favs when I was younger. I remember his cartoon on Saturday morning, another fav. I’ve been rewatching it here and there for the last 5 years or so. But almost everytime I hear his name or see him the image of him wearing that snow suit where he looked like a star and couldn’t move. What do the kids call it today, living in my head rent free?

This is beautiful, Bill! Thank you! I remember watching that HBO broadcast in the mi 80’s. I think I was about 16? Over the last 10-15 years I’ve often looked up clips from that performance. The dropping of m&ms in a war zone occurs to me just now 😂. Louie was an amazing guy!

How do I keep this short….didn’t know Burr was a comedian, didn’t know Rogan was a comedian. The power of us, right? Through ppl like this, we connect, and find a foundation to build upon. Our comedians, are our story tellers and expose our shortcomings. Through their lens, we can all find a way to love each other and live respectfully. Peace everyone.

I had the honor to see him twice in Northwestern Wisconsin. Meet him afterwards and had him sign his book. He was so Humble and genuine . I laughed so hard about his bit about going to the city dump could so relate with his comedy. We both grew up in one mid west Grew up in St Paul I grew up right across the border of Wisconsin. Love you Louie. Thank you for helping me relate to my very dysfunctional family with humor. 🙏😘
