Has been a Teena Marie fan since I could remember. My grandma use to play her music all the time & I was amazed at how angelic her voiced sound. Her voice is truly a gift from God, because no one can duplicate this one of a kind voice. RIP Lady T you will forever remain in our hearts and on our playlist:)

I remember we went to see u in AC and there were 100s of blk ppl standing in the hall waiting to go in. 2 ww 🚶 by and read the sign ( anouncing u were there) 1 turned n asked her friend "Who is Teena Marie? Her friend tried to look confident as she answered: " Duh_ a black singer from Motown!" We laughed so hard, bcuz they assumed u were one of us bcuz there was nothing but BP in the hall for u. And u know what? They were right! U ALWAYS belonged to us! _ and we love u forever...

I remember being a little girl listening to my mom sing this song. Fast forward i'm 20 years old cleaning my apt every morning listening to this song as my inspiration for the day. Now I turn 40 yrs. old Friday and I still play this song to keep me going, especially on those days I feel like I don't want to take no more it let's me know I have to, cause i'm not coming back no more. I've always been a Teena Marie fanatical. I had to buy this album 4 times coz friends would slid out with it when I wasn't looking. One of the most peaceful songs ever written and the vocals of Lady T literally puts you on that white sandy beach were 'nothing really matters'. Absolutely beautiful. I told my children to play this at the exit of my funeral .R.I.P. Lady T. See you when I get there.

I had the chance to see her in Irvine California at the Summer soul jam..I was so amazed to see her, and the mikes were messing up, andshe stopped the show and told the people "Hey yall need to fix these mikes, these people paid money to hear me..." everybody cheered for her she was so together!
