I tend to find that the worst drivers I've ever encountered were elderly. Been nearly hit multiple times as a pedestrian and that was almost always the case. The only time I can think of where it wasn't an elderly person was this potatosack-looking woman with headphones on; she took a right around an intersection with her eyes locked straight ahead and didn't even notice me. Nearly ran over my foot.

What I find in a lot of clips I see is there's always a lot of horn action but not enough prevention. They'll happily honk the horn for 10 seconds while barreling into potential death rather than trying to prevent it by stopping etc.

to be fair, they stopped when they could like you're meant to. and couldve had somebody behind em so they might have been unable to back up. the fire truck literally has the ability to move in all directions with the vast majority of people aware and able to cooperate just from their siren so idk why they didnt just back up a little so they could finish their turn. they couldve lol
My grandpa never uses his turn signal, even after I've called him out on it for ages now. It's been like this for as long as I can remember, so I can only assume it was happening even before I was born, and I have no clue how they've never gotten a ticket or none of us have been killed. Cars aren't scary, it's the drivers, and you can't trust anyone with how low the standard for getting (and keeping) a license is.

In Bulgaria people turn on and off their headlights twice to alert other drivers for police car ahead and to fasten their seat belts so they dont get pulled over and get a 1k€ ticket

For the 5 years I drove my car, the only my horn was honked was when my sister got so pissed and honked for me then I started yelling at her not to do that, I feel like loud sounds cause more accidents and is more intended for people who don't go at the green lights

I keep saying that we should have some sort of check-up or reoccurring testing system to reduce the level of bad drivers on the road or give those bad drivers incentive to learn the road rules. The amount of bad drivers i see on a daily basis is astounding, I watched some grandma drive on the wrong side of the road and show no signs of realisation until a car blaring their horn is coming at them, this has happened two separate times. I also almost got hit as a pedestrian by some 40 year old woman on a roundabout because she didn't use her indicators at all, and as she continued to speed past, she looked at me like I was _I_ in the wrong.
In romania we get a lot of news on driving license people that keep failing , every single person that fail, IS a moron because they complain , yea its not THEY'RE fault, its the other cars and the cop that inspects them, not only that, its WAY too easy to pass, our tests are soo easy, 70% myself included forget basic stuff and need to relearn when we get our first car, its scary to think we fight in the road, its so dangerous with the ammout of idiots on the road

In fairness it depends on the law and how its enforced; there are places in the world where they literally just try to make money for the department from tickets - especially from lower income drivers which seem like an easier profile. But tbh we fucked up by making urban areas car-centric in the first place!
Well we didn't made them, but we still are taking the side of the 40+ year olds who believe owning a Japanese car upsold in the America's and then upsold again on a dealership is the biggest pride you can uphold. In a lot of the Russian clips it's Ukraine the plates are Ukrainian, still same thing, most are in the winter where the road is frozen, those areas become cold as hell in winter.
