Member of the Bluey faction here. I lent my pixels to MLP during almost every attack Dashie and the gang faced. I also aided with intel between our two discord servers. Especially during the many attacks of german streamer bullies, where I acted as a translator to warn MLP and my own faction of their incoming plans and target locations. You guys were the best ally we could have asked for! (And we will never forget your contribution to finally establish Bluey's belly.) Should r/place ever return, our faction will be there by your side placing blue dogs next to blue ponies. The ride never ends, and never shall our friendship!
It was genuiinely funny early on that they couldn't get the eyes right. Likely due to 'helpful' randoms not knowing that they were supposed to be looking at each other. It was approaching Canadians trying to draw a leaf levels.
@@stryke-jn3kvHey, we Canadians are not NEARLY that bad. Now, regular leaf, sure, but we see that maple leaf EVERYWHERE - we'd better know damn well how to draw it! BTW, you made me chuckle, mate.
The cancer of streamers was already bad, but it really came to a head in Place2023. The way they went around targeting MLP among works of various other communities was hard to watch. Factions fighting over territory and having diplomatic talks is one thing; seeing a bunch of people organizing, discussing, and working together to make art in tribute to what they love is an amazing process to watch unfold --and a truly unique experience facilitated by place. Big streamers entering the fray however, simply to disrupt, vandalize, or commandeer hours if not days of effort with no creative or artistic initiative of their own, ..feels just gross. Some say they are an inevitable or even necessary force who facilitate amazing battles, recoveries, and stories among the place communities, ..and perhaps there is a bit of truth in that, ..tho I wish they took the massive audiences they've garnered, and the artistic prospects facilitated by place, to organize something amazing with actual artistic substance. Even the void had a semblance of ambition, --to deface work yes, but not relentlessly target. The void even had a bit of a story arc this year which was very sweet to see unfold.
Main character syndrome. The original void was a perfectly good villain, as it was also just one of the many big communities of /r/place. Although, perhaps in today's online climate, such antagonistic communities couldn't work, so maybe streamers aren't such a bad addition. That is, if they didn't completely take over and make it all about themselves and their battles, dominating the canvas with their antics. 2022 was the perfect balance.
John Capcom is the hero we never knew we needed, what a legend. As a participant to this event, those six days were so gosh darn exhausting. While it had some fun moments, most of it came from the Discord Server, the community was just that fun to interact with. The memes, the propaganda, the panic among those in the general chatter, it was wild but very entertaining! Definitely makes me glad to be part of this fandom. Also thank you for the quick and simple video! It gets to the point and...yes we did not need a deep dive since 2023 Place was 2022 but wearing a shirt that's on fire.
Mizkif this year was the standard hammy villain against the bronies, and I loved every second of it. He seemed willing to just have fun with the bronies instead of going onto them which made it so much more entertaining
As a closeted brony who saw both the 2017 and 2022 videos, It was an honor to finally participate in r/place for its third iteration and witness the legendary John Capcom meme be birthed in the discord server.
I didn't get to participate in r/place 2023 as it seemed like it was a dumpster fire from beginning to end, I'm glad that the bronies were able to make a comeback and make a "friend" outta Mizkif even if it was briefly. This was a great video explanation discussing everything I missed out on, Now I'm looking forward to your documentation every r/place. :")
Gotta give Littleshy credit for faking us out with this video saying he won't do a deep dive just so that we end up pleasantly surprised once he ends up uploading the deep dive anyway. Looking forward to it!
I poked my head in one of those livestreams and it sounded like war was going on. Different factions together or against each other. All the coordination. Looked like a pretty fun time!
My favorite thing about bronies and one reason among many as to why I'm still proud to call myself one after many controversies, is that we, very often, are true to our word and the message of the show, that we will friendship the heck out of you. Bronies are so nice. It really warms my heart.
I was part of the Zelda community for this event and while we didn’t interact with bronies or the peace alliance (as far as I’m aware) it was still awesome seeing all of y’all’s art popping up around the canvas! This event was a dumpster fire but getting to make art with other cool people was super fun and I’d 100% do it again. If there is ever another place event I look forward to seeing ponies and others art! 💖
I participated a lot this year. I even made and help make some other pony artworks around the canvas! One thing I can say about our fandom is that everyone is so sweet and creative when it comes to coming together and making artwork. The ride never ends!! Great video Littleshy! ❤
yeah, i tried to organise a coup to overthrow the friendship council after we got destroyed by platypus. it didnt work ofcourse but atleast now i can laugh about it.
apology from r/placede im sorry we were mean even though you guys protected our heart we made so fiercly. even though it was months ago i felt bad about it for a long time.
Its so amazing seeing such a large community like the brony fandom being so nice to someone who had destroyed so much hard work. It genuinely makes me smile.
8:08 15:18 As the representative of the Cozy Glow faction, I was honoured to see Cozy Glows Rook rise from the dead after the streamers attack and it being featured in the final showcase of art in this video. I’d like to speak on behalf of the Cozy Glow faction and say it’s been an honour working with you, and if r/place ever returns (hopefully no time soon) we’d be pleased to ally with you once again ♜
I've loosely been participating in r/Place events. I've donated a few pixels to the pony cause myself of course. But the recaps from you are always my favorite part. The stuff that goes on in the background is so fascinating
Remember when John Capcom join the vc and he started doing a sale pitch impression, It was me Bronies, I invited him to the sever to convince y’all to help us with the Monster Hunter
I actually joined this time and placed a few pixels because I had finally made a reddit account only a few months prior. Was kinda fun Being a Genshin fan too this was extra neat to see pones and Genshin right next to each other for a while, heh. Too bad that didn't last
I was part of a small Chara-based Undertale community working to create a scene of Frisk and Chara. We faced heavy griefing and were consumed by the void at one point but we struck a deal with the pride flag and we can be seen on the final product.
I love our pixel art a lot. It brought me joy just seeing it. Minus all the dramas and everything that happen in r/place i on;y care about our art and effort. Thank you to everyone making it possible.
THE END IS NEVER THE END!!! I had the opportunity to see this content and with the r/Place in which we live. Wow, they have achieved it and this video deserves to have more. Congratulations! 🎊 🎉
The Ponylatino Discord Server was supporting the war from the beginning, perhaps we ended up getting in the way sometimes because we were not so aware of the plans, but there was no shortage of laughter, greetings from Hispanic America :)
What a weekend Place 2023 was. It was my first time participating in Place and simultaneously I hated it and loved it. It was stressful, but there were a lot of memories made and some fun times too. I genuinely hope Reddit doesn't do this again, but if they do... well then The Ride Never Ends.
Wonderful video, very clever to only cover what was new; and thank you for including John's introduction, I finally understand why everyone fell in love with the moment he started talking 🙏💖🦄 Here's hoping this was the death of r/place...but if, god forbid, it rises from it's ashes, rest assured that I will be ready to defend :rdsalute:
It was really cool to work with you guys. We, the deltarune nerds, had a great time and it was mostly thanks to the bronies. That being said, I hope we never have to do that again. I honestly forgot how great you guys are, and I am planning to go to a brony convention for the first time since before the virus and maybe even rejoining the herd. Thanks a lot, Littleshy.
I only stay in little bits because I have a job but this years place was a wild ride. My favorite thing about place is seeing communities working together and the alliances made. The bronies had a few good new ones, like Bluey and One Piece. It warms my heart Bluey wasn't really griefed, it's cute. I was also surprised you guys managed to get an alliance with One Piece since it is a very powerful and respected community. It was fun if a bit too long.
I remember popping in to r/place every time I crossed Reddit to look at the board and would see the bronies thriving and would just casually place a pixel for support hoping it didn’t mess up the art 😂 while technically I wasn’t an active member of the community as much as I was in the past I would always be happy to be a part of a community such as the bronies and every time I came back to that board and seeing you guys not only thriving but preserving always made me happy ❤
Black Company (although by our numbers we should probably have called ourselves the Black Regiment, ha) founder here, let's just say we were a bit concerned when we noticed almost no one in Black Company's ranks had a working template in the first thirty minutes of the event. The Charity bot providing an emergency backup template in the form of a spreadsheet is probably what saved us here. And then the entirety of P3ACE saving our asses when we got obliterated several times in a row as a natural result of being in the exact middle of the canvas. Ultimately, we prevailed, despite how much of a clusterfuck this event was, and I'm glad to see that the bronies managed to hold their ground as well. Here's to hoping next time is just as successful (though Black Company, having fulfilled its purpose, likely won't be part of it, so I'll probably just be resuming my duty as VTubers Place representative when that happens)... and is also several years away.
Surprising there was no mention of the shorts wars arg where Johnny Razors clone decided to do some trolling and put glasses on random art and creating the picture of the channel.
I was there, my first r/place. I was on the discord stage call, even the call before June 20th. Although I don't have the discord badges, I was there. Thankyou everypony, for carrying us to the end.
I still think the effort me and those 2 guys getting vinyl and tavi past r/France and r/furryIRL and the soundwave next to the discord album art should’ve been mentioned. :( true deep dive when? I’d love to be interviewed
i am soooooooooooooooooo happy being a part if brony r/pace this year. the first time i felt part of the fandom :3 /) i love the discord crew. perfect group!
yooooooo i was actually part of the mlp faction this time! this was crazy & tbh interacting with the community was some of the most fun i’ve had this year, despite all the chaos, haha. My server nickname was Noble Silence (currently Spell Star as I renamed my ponysona) if anyone remembers me lol ‘Twas an honour to post pixels alongside fellow fans of the show! /)
I'm glad to have helped to defend our ponies! Most communities I was in wwre either too tiny to be touched or simply didn't even exist until a few canvis updates so I spent the majority of my pixels on the ponies
I was running my own Discord server at the time, and after the boredom of Day 1 we were hoping for something interesting to happen. So when Mizkif came on Day 2, we were all having the time of our lives, contrary to the year before. Though I never would've imagined the fun that watching his stream that day would bring. While this place was still the worst one, it still brought a ton of fun memories, and I made a lot of friends on the r/place bronies server.
THE MAGIC OF FRIENDSHIP AND THE FANDOM BRONY... NEVER STOP AND ALWAYS EXIST. BROHOOF EVERYONE FROM MONTERREY MEXICO. ATE: REXBOW DANCE (THE BRONY DANCER) ¡ HECHALE PONY! 💪🏾🐴
One thing I want to see is an animation akin to equestria at war where bronies in military uniforms fight off streamer chat and dig colors into the ground
