not just that but some madlads right next to them animated five leaves after shooting a bullet through their flag(if you didnt understand look up "bad apple animation r/place")
To actually clear that out: the Germans didn’t use bots. They had a program linked called Zinnsoldat, it was a program you could activate on your account so it auto places pixels to secure the artworks. It is similar tho. But the program had a peak of like 1k ppl using it at a time wich is in comparison to the partly 50k active soldiers at a time a really irrelevant part. ❤
We germans were so many, we actually crashed discord. We had to contact support so they relocate us to our own dedicated server rig that could handle the thousands of people in the voice calls. True Story.
Tbf german filled their space with many many good artworks, while france mostly leave their flag like it is. ANd the only bot used by german was an autoplacer/overlay which tell where to place the one pixel/5mins. Streamers were insane, papaplatte, gronkh, rvnx and stegi were combined way over 175k viewers who participating, even the nightwatch were around 40k users during normal sleep time xD
My favorite moment was when Turkey attacked Technoblade and Germany decided to punish them by changing their flag into the Deutsche Bahn Logo. (Möge sich der Stuhl auf ewig Drehen!)
@@gameofsilenz France was not really far behind, they just lacked people. France held much more space than germany for most of it, but after leavbing a Flag twice the size of the main german one empty for 5 hours did not sit right with anyone so France got attacked and lost a lot more. Meanwhile germany was called out for apparently "hogging" space literally 20 minutes after germany created a "Free" space for tiny artworks in a guarded border. the "man above the clouds picture" was the example given, and other nice works followed by small comunities.
@@tobiaspramono378 canada invaded us touhou fan numerous times, killing reimu (which i think the peru bot did), so we decided to respawn her until you guys stop. hell, we even shoot canadian flag with that reisen shoot! it even reached madoka magica
The difference between actual bots and the Zinnsoldat is that with the Zinnsoldat every person that has it only gives one pixel. You just have a program that tells you where to add your pixel after the 5 minutes cooldown.
The real deal is we Germans were fighting a whole civil war the entire time against die Südflagge We weren’t even united and still destroyed every other community
And were at the same time also casually nuking anyone who tried to destroy the artworks of our allies. Just look at how tueky got turned into a subdivison of the Deutsche Bahn.
What? I was in the Südflagge. Literally no one in the Nordflagge attacked us XD Also we were just like 30 people. We took ages to complete our artworks. The only reason we could exist was because other people thought we belonged to main Germany and because we allied with Austria and the Transgender community that were our neighbours. Also the German Hive mind sometimes helped to expand our flag. But there was never a war between us. If there was we had been dead in a second.
People complain about the germans hogging stuff, yet the german community had literally drafted aliances with well over 100 communities and countries.... Like its not the germans fault that "talking" was to much for you to manage
my personal highlight: On the Map of Europe, the russian flag got replaced. First with the Russian-Freedom-Legion flag (white, blue, white) and later with the trans flag. absolutely hilarious.
@@wivyYA it did. Turkey got overrun after they attacked someone. Germany took the Turkish flag not only over but simply flattened it (like it should be)
@@ChaCha._.RealSmooth yeah, I just remember Germany coming to help. Oh and I never said they messed with Germany, we just helped the Technoblade memorial.
@@wivyYA Idk how you think big artworks like the dragon are made. Surely not by eyeballing. If you only consider the void and the Canadian flag as art then yes. Otherwise you're delusional. I guess every photographer who uses a grid to apply the rule of 2/3 in his images isn't considered an artist, too.
1:01 To be fair Germany wasn't using bots but an autoplacer i.e. a script that you could activate on your account to automatically place pixels where they were needed in the artwork. The idea is that people that can't sit in front r/place 24/7 because of such pesky things like, I dunno, work for example can still contribute.
@@Duconi Well, not quite. Bots are all linked together with an with hundreds or thousands of throwaway accounts, autoplacer aren't really linked together, they're just a script that runs on your account independently. So yes, you're not placing the pixel but I don't think it's nearly as bad as bots and should be allowed...
@@BlackWater_49 people still call it bots. (bots are also used to grief, and i feel like streemers are way worse in that regard. certain communities are easy targets to streemers, so bots are used to keep from constant wipe from people who look at small art of certain communities and say, get it off my screen.)
@@kittenfan7664 Yeah, from what I've heard and seen as a liaison officer to r/placeDE they only used their autoplacers it defensively to keep intricate artwork alive. Also frankly they has no need for offensive assistance considering they had over 180k people on their Discord server...
@@Duconi Yes and no. You gave your pixel to the software, which located the spot it is needed in and places it. It stays at 1 pixel per person. With bots the number went from 1 pixel per person to >1 pixel per person.
actually german pixelers helped others a lot this year. like when the dutch nextended their flag german pixelers helped them after finishing the german flag.
Next time, I'd love to see Germany and France working together ^^ This whole thing is also a very good example for modern German nationalism nowadays, reserved for fun occasions and playful. At least most of the times anyway 😅
yeah i'd love to ! I'm french and it would be insane to see such a bigs communities working togather for defend themselves against other, and drawing beautiful art with teamwork 😁😁🤩
As far as I know, the link on the german sub wasn't for the installation of a bot, but rather for a plugin showing you where to place your pixel, streamlining the process of building art
Yeah, the expansion was just us 100k people doing a well organised quick attack. The bot was defensive. You would log in and it would scan the flag and any "illegal" pixel was covered up by your pixel. It wasnt like a spam 500 pixels a second program, just one every five minutes. Was cool.
discord had to move the german r/place discord to its own server since there where so many people on it at the same time. I think there where like 3k people in 1 call at one point.
Touhou community: Litrally recreated a Bad Apple community Canada: cant even draw a leaf

Fier d'être Français! Merci les voisins Allemands de nous avoir aidé durant les attaques des stupides streamers americains (Amerika ist NICHT Wunderbar)
Germany didn't use bots, it was an guide to install an overlay, so the people could see wich pixels needed to be were, so the artworks come out perfect
Missing the part where after Turkey attacked the technoblade memorial Germany took over the Turkish flag and placed the deutsche bahn logo(german train company) all over it.
Tbh, I am german and I didn't take part on this since I do not have reddit Installed but after seeing what was going on there I wish I was a part of it
Foe canada, we do not talk about the touhou fans next to canada, they made multiple of these leaves in one small frame while doing their bad apple video
