R.S. HISPANIOLA is towed downriver to Erith for scrapping on 31 October 2022.
R.S. HISPANIOLA was a Restaurant Ship moored on the Victoria Embankment for a number of years.
This video shows her passing Greenwich on her final journey downriver.

I dined on the Hispaniola a few times back in the late 1980s/early 1990s when in London on courses. Really nice memories of her.

Thanks for watching. Yes - in the early 2000s the company I worked for used to have their Christmas Party there. Like you, I also have happy memories.

Was originally a passenger ferry the Maid of Ashton which served various routes on the Firth of Clyde from the early fifties till early seventies

Sad to see the last of three Clyde excursion ships which became restaurants on the Thames ...PS Caledonia(1934) which went on fire in 1980 , replaced by the Queen Mary(1933)(now back on the Clyde preserved). The Hispaniola survived them till now.

Thanks for watching. Yes - sadly I suspect she was a victim of the pandemic and a general downturn in the number of people eating out. A number of cafes / restaurants have shut down around where I live. The company I used to work for had their Christmas party there every year so I have fond memories of the Hispaniola.

Yes - I suspect that she was the victim of the pandemic and the general decline in the hospitality business. A number of cafes, restaurants and pubs were never able to recover. My work used to have it's annual Christmas party there around 10 years ago so I have many happy memories of evenings on board!
