The genus post was pretty funny, because "genus" is a real word - in taxonomy, it refers to the lowest rank above a species. For example, we humans are species _Homo sapiens_ , and the genus is simply _Homo_ . Likewise, _Tyrannosaurus rex_ is a species, while _Tyrannosaurus_ is just the genus.
