Might want to check your info. R-Type never released on NES. Although hack ROMs are available now.

@thelastgamestandingexp it was weird actually. I used to play it on arcade all the time. I could get it on commodore64 but it didn't come out on nintendo until the super r-type for the SNES which was both 1 and 2. Even though Australia got iREM branded R-Type, I've heard the american arcade units were all published by Nintendo, so why no NES release?

That is a good question. Especially with how dominant NES was at that time, a NES version SHOULD have been a given. It's something I'll research and make a video on for sure. It's intersting
