I think its hard to judge,R10 the 3 years at Barca, I have never seen a player quite on that level ability wise , he did not maintain that crazy level after or before even though he was good R9 was possibly the greatest striker the world has seen and whilst he had most of the skills that R10 had, im not sure he had quite the same midfield vision, but was for sure a better finisher. I see R9 as the most complete striker ever, and R10 possible hit the highest level i have seen a number 10 hit, but will never be called the greatest of all time simply because people like Messi, Maradona, C.Ronaldo, hit those kind of heights but maintained them for far longer, R9 would have done as well had it not been for injury. both gems to watch and I imagine terrifying to play against (all the name s i have mentioned actually) both showed the max level so far in their respective positions but neither could maintain it for different reasons

This is pretty much dead on. Ronaldinho was the embodiment of Joga Bonito but Ronaldo was a straight up beast

@@jacksmith4460 ive seen them all and when i was a kid i saw the young skinny psv, barca and inter R9 before he got injured that was the best the world has ever seen. at his young age he was already so complete. acceleration, speed, techqniue, dribble, left and right foot equally strong, physis, header. he had pretty much everything. heres comes the downside. R9 never reached his peak. he got injured way too early. the fat r9 was still one of the best strikers and won his wc and ballondor but he wasnt as good as the young skinny one. people can check r9s stats from age 18-22 and compare them to messi and cr7. ofc they have better stats now but when they were young their stats werent even close to r9s

R9 no question about that. R10 could have more style but R9 was much stronger, faster, more objective and an athlete. At a certain point in his career R10 did not want to be a professional athlete and practically sank into his career. R9's career is one of more effort, overcoming and glory and it just wasn't any longer because of the terrible knee injuries he had

@PIZZO, it's useless comparing Messi and R9.. there're so many factors that can make it difficult to see who is the best since Messi just played in Barcelona with the best players. CR7 is the same! Who knows what R9 would have done without his injuries and the same as Ronaldinho (who didn't take futebol so seriously, but what if he was so focused as CR7?) ... Well, in anycase is just our opinion.

How is he better than Messi? Messi is easily a better scorer. Better passer. Better dribbler. Hes better at everything except probably pace.

It's like having Messi have a major career threatening injury in the 09\10 season and only come back 2 years later without ever regaining the pace he once had. think about it we never got to see r9's prime... by 22 he already had gotten to 2 WC finals, won world player of the year twice, elected the best player in a WC, 2 copa americas titles being the top scorer in both, a confederations cup title, had been top scorer and elected best player in the dutch, spanish and italian leagues. hell, he scored 54 goals in 57 matches for PSV at 17\18 years old!!! As godly as Messi was between 2005-2009, R9 from 94 to 99 was better so there is argument there to say he had the greatest amount of raw talent ever, but sadly injuries never allowed us to see it

@@Luckymag-if4dw exactly what I'm saying. I'm not talking stat lines or anything like that it's the eye test and those of us that have played at a high level know what I'm talking about. To this day when you watch him in that era it's hard to comprehend what you're seeing. I always joke that he ruptured his knee because when he does a step over he is literally trying to move the earth.

i agree with u. good players have achieved mid 20s(near 27 years old),but ronaldo was born a phenomenon. At 19/20 y.o he scored 47 goals in 49 games in la liga for barcelona and was the best player in the world

Actually, most of what is in this video was after the first injury, and half of it was after the second and most serious one. There is almost none play from the time he was playing at psv and cruzeiro

Most of those are Clips from his Early year for his National team and the late 90s Barcelona and Early season at Inter( mostly) His first MAJOR Injury was during the 1999 season at Inter.. and His second major was during the 2000 season against Lazio and Between those Injury dates HE PLAYED ONLY 6 MINUTES!!! so I can;t see how Ronaldo did most of those Moves in Mere 6 minutes. ....and he missed the entire season . had multiple Operations in that Period Where Lots of People had written him off But eventualy came back to win the world Cup. yes he still produced some skills but It wasn't the same as the Pre-Injured Period

In Brazil, we know R9 was better. He won the WC for us, two copa americas and more. R10, as good as he was, always underperfomed for our national team. He was never the protagonist, never the guy who decided the big games (well, except for one = england 2002). Rivaldo was more important than him.
