It’s very interesting to see a R142A signed up as the 42nd Street (S) shuttle program. The conductor was very nice and friendly to put the R142A 42nd Street (S) shuttle to Grand Central Program. It’s very rare seeing a R142A 42nd Street (S) shuttle program since R142A never ran on the 42nd Street (S) shuttle line. Anyways if you enjoy this video, please give this video a thumbs up (like this video) and subscribe to my channel.

Surprised Annie bergen did the "The next and last stop is" announcement considering how Dianne Thompson pretty much took over Jessica Ettinger for "The next stop is"

very rare to see the 42nd Street Shuttle on the 4 line but also there’s a dead giveaway that they used this train after the 4 used it to get to Woodlawn in the video, normally you see the R62As on the 42nd Street Shuttles which I’ve been on the 42nd Street Shuttle a few times since I don’t live too far away from the city I only live about 20 miles away from Midtown Manhattan and about 10 miles away from The Bronx so it’s a very convenient ride to get down there since I take Metro North from Crestwood to Grand Central-42nd Street and walk to the subway from the Oyster Club for Metro North and the Long Island Railroad

Also some R142s still have the original (7) train program and the original old announcements too.

And believe me or not, there was a conductor on the 4 line that told me that they actually signed up the R142 as the 9 train program. The 9 train service was discontinued back in 2005 but surprisingly the 9 train program was kept on some R142s ( I don’t know about the R142A ). I mean anything is possible. 😳

I would like to see the R142As or R188s run on the 42nd St Shuttle especially after the renovation project.

I think the shuttle will get the R262s like the 2, 4, 5, and 6 considering the number of cars ordered. The original order is 504, leaving 24 cars for the shuttle, which now runs 6 car sets. That’s four trains. If the option order is exercised, we would see 1,364, which allows for 84 cars for the shuttle, making 14 shuttle trains. I expect the R142s to move to the 1 and 4 and R142As moving to the 3. R188s are staying on the 7, that’s for sure.

Especially considering the At the 7 is eleven cars instead of ten plus uses CBTC that in the future will be a different type than what the rest of the IRT will use i agree@@HesJustSteven

Yeah I agree. Annie that originally voiced the 7 train announcements was much better in my opinion.

Yup, if only the MTA didn’t screw it up on the 7 with the spliced bullshit, I hope this stays considering the whole IRT is spliced, something should stay original.

It's pretty surprising but also nice to see the R142A on the 42nd Street Shuttle, especially since we haven't seen a New Tech train on a Shuttle. EDIT: Nevermind, I just found out that the R179s are on the Rockaway Park Shuttle.

Yeah we haven’t seen a R142 or a R142A on the 42nd Street Shuttle which is the IRT line only.
