I've been researching, digging through fb / youtube / forums and the more I dig in the more excited I get. Have purchased my machine, filaments and lots of the basic tools to keep me busy for the first few months so far (have built an everygrowing spreadsheet with the parts I need, links, prices, quantities and when in the build I will need them to make things a bit easier (for me anyway). Originally felt overwhelmed in a sense that it was going to be too complicated or too much for me. After watching your videos and being shown the step by steps, recommendations and FAQ be answered, I must say I'm feeling confident to tackle this at full-steam! Have also watched and re-watched John Salt's build through and through. Thank you so so much for all the hard work and constant efforts you put into these builds!
Thank you so much for this video. I am just at the point of final assembly of the 3 rings and the shoulders and this answered everything for me. Timing couldn't have been more perfect.
I’m glad you put this vid up cos I had the middle part of the back panel upside down 😝, I e changed it now thanks , I’ll probly use magnets anyway with the back panel. So I wasn’t to worried either way but very nice video on it tho.
good morning everyone, could someone tell me how to find the modifications of the r2d2 v2 data carrier hinge on Thingiverse or where to find the STL file. Thanks to all of you, sorry but I'm using google translator, greetings from Beppe
any chance for v3 flythrough? Working on V3 and just glued some parts together backwards costing me days of printing. The instructions while good, do not show the items in 3D except for one screenshot which may not show the exact orientation of parts. This video is amazing but for an older version.
I think you came out with the V3 body a month after I finished printing my V2. I have had my modified V2 body assembled for 2 years now but I haven't moved it much beyond the rough assembly and 1st filler. I'm stuck on a couple of things including reprinting the leg pieces in PETG and figuring out the 2-3-2, extra arms, etc. I think I messed the little door arm up too. I'm also stuck on how to better support the head guts I've made. Do you think a strip of metal (or 2) would work? Can the V2 legs (which I can print as pieces) be printed in PETG? My issue is finding a way to glue them together after, or glue them with cosmetic pieces that are still ABS/PLA. (I know PETG doesn't like glue) Can the MIII rear door be used on the V2 body? Someday I'll get back to it... when I can get the workbench to myself! :) Are you going to evaluate independent kits others have made to add on to this someday? FYI there is a gluing jig for the rear panel on Thingiverse. www.thingiverse.com/thing:3718902 Or a flying droid? ;D ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LAZP9rmpVd8.html I love this video though, and wish I'd had it back during assembly!
Hi, I'm a complete noob to 3d printing and I'm attempting this as my first project. Could you recommend a good, middle of the road printer that would suffice for this project. Great work btw 👍 I'll sub to your patrion when I'm ready for the files.
Sure. V2 is a 200mm print bed so the ender2 will work perfectly. Links - Facebook group www.Facebook.com/groups/mrbaddeley patreon / files www.patreon.com/mrbaddeley
