When wrapping Harry room temperature makes a difference. You need to warm the vinyl more than what you are doing. Experiment on something you don't need. I like what you've done but you've heavily stretched it. We all Need to start some where tho and Best way is hands on. You'll get there 👍
You should try hydrodipping them yourselves - you can buy the kits to do it yourself, it’s quite easy and so satisfying to do! Much easier than wrapping too😂😂
You're correct, stretching it is your friend. BUT also don't over stretch it, as you said it can ruin it. Finding that happy balance and learning how to spread it out perfectly just takes time and practice. Don't worry Harry, that's a sick first good and well worth the Steeze brother! Keep going at it!
Should have stuck the mirror on the end of a piece of wood. Then heated up the wrap and then you and gaz pulled it over the mirror whilst it warm. It's how I done mine seemed to work the best with very minimal creases
Harry, the best thing to use for deleting chrome is a spray on paint called plastidip. It's a rubbery paint you can peel off if you don't like it or want to change the colour etc.. lots of videos on RU-vid about it. People have even re-painted there whole cars using it. Top effort on wrapping. If you wanna clay bar your golf you should get yourself a clay mitt and soapy water, it's the easiest and quickest way just keep your mitt wet
Bro good attempt you chose one of the hardest mirrors to learn on practice on the lower front wing panels minis are a great car to learn to wrap on quick to strip and flattish and watch a couple of videos on pre stretching the wrap for mirrors for massive curves if you want any tips drop me a DM good video loving the new content
had mini 1.6 petrol, it was a really good handling car and was also straight piped sounded mint rallying the back roads of ireland, trust me mate you will have a lot of fun with this car, just keep a gearbox spare, love the content mate keep it up!
Dont know if it will help much but every person ive watched wrap a car part wets it first and also use like a scraper to get the air bubbles or creases out. Great to see this content from you !

You did an awesome job for a first time. If you wrap the mirror still on the car you’ll find it easier to pull the wrap round it gaz can heat the wrap as you pull it round. Then pull the mirror off to trim the wrap. And seeing even a pro slip out on a dusty floor was crack up
Cushty job mucker. Don’t quote me on this but I’ve had great success with wet down the surface and then applying decal. It lets it move quite well. Dependant on the strength of the decal of course. If any wrappers read this shed some light on this for me to know if it’s something that should or shouldn’t be done? Top stuff haribo 👍
works when applying stickers / graphics, but as soon as the heat gun is brought in to get the wrap warm and plyable the liquid drys out so probably not much help. better for lining up stuff on mostly flat surfaces
I own a R53 mini cooper s - if you want a grill get a JCW aero grill they also sell body kits for the R53, for the chrome round the doors and windows you can but kits for a tenner called belt line kits and also upgraded scoops. i would recommend joining the Facebook pages r53 owners club and r53 addicts you will get a lot of help and people sell stuff a lot

For your first time you did a pretty good job^^ In my job we have sometimes tasks like this and yeah, the key is heating large surfaces up (not too hot) and pulling them around the object. In my opinion it would have been a bit easier if you've kept it at the car so you can better work with both hands. Also you can poke little holes with a cutter knife in these bubbles and crinkles, heating them up and press them down ;) But yeah, good job m8👌
I don't know how you binned your brand new bike and just laughed it off 😭 I would have been devastated 😆 Not a bad attempt at a first wrap on the mirror back. The shape makes it really awkward. You might find yourself revisiting it for those creases at the edge if you are fussy 😁 On the main body of the mirror you can use a pin to pop any of the tiny air bubbles and push out the final bits of air
Yo,advice.when wrapping and tunnels appear pull both sides of the vinyl surround it then heat this is the best way and always make sure you get glass with the vinyl
Mod squad #1 fan watched you since the Harry mania bmx edit. I used to ride myself now into motorcycle and cars and I think it’s good to put old skills from bmx to cars and motorcycles. As you get older the toys get bigger and more fun.
never use Relief cuts or cut off excess till the item is fully wrapped with no creases or fingers (air pockets) left as it will make it harder to remove wrinkles in vinyl
Do not take the cover off the car it just make it harder. Easier to work and stretch when its on the car. When you streched it all the way out to the edges then take it off to fold in the sides and cut. Heat alot and work with it at the same time. The longer you way the harder the vinyl gets.
I think you need some sort of table or bench and chair to sit at to do these types of things. I seem to work better like this than sitting on the floor. Maybe a small fold away type table or something you can put in front of the couch then fold up and stow away behind the couch or hung on the wall when not using it?

i would think putting some cuts in the overhang in the areas where its creasing would help a lot. i never warped a car but i have dome some warping with vinal and the cuts helped me out a lot. and it took me a few tries before i realized you can heat the shit out of it.
try sticking one edge of the wrap the the bench. hold it stretched out. heat it quite alot so its really flexible then push the mirror into the wrap while one of you holds the wrap tight so it moulds the the shape of the mirror. then just small amounts of heat to get any bubbles or wrinkles out. should keep its shape while your doing it so makes it 10x easier.
@@harrymain definitely mate it's a great day all round at a track. I do service crew for two rally cars my mates have & it's not all about the driving. The build & working on the cars is all part of the fun.
Just a heads up with the Torque wrench mate make sure you release the pressure (turn the dial to 0) when your done using it. So it don`t get buggered up Cheer`s from Canada.
Have a look at those scuttle vents (under the wiper blades) when i first got mine, i ordered new ones, but found out, those chrome trims were actually stick on ones, so i basically took em off and peeled the "stick on" chrome cover. If that makes sense? 😂

Dude not bad for a first time. Mirrors are impossible. Next time hold the wrap up heat the sheet loads first and push the mirror into it. It will be much quicker. Also do a tester on the filler on the golf. Some wrap doesn't stick very well to filler!
