राग झिंझोटी के बारे में सुन्दर चर्चा। परन्तु यह चर्चा उस्ताद अब्दुल करीम ख़ां साहब की गाई ठुमरी के बिना अधूरी लगी, इसके साथ ही फिल्म देवदास में कुन्दन लाल सहगल के गाये हुए गाने का भी इसमें समावेश किया जाता तो अधिक अच्छा होता जिसकी प्रशंसा में स्वयं अब्दुल करीम ख़ां साहब का कहना था कि सहगल साहब ने तीन मिनट के गाने में वो असर पैदा कर दिया जो वे लम्बी अवधि में भी नहीं कर सके।
we need more detailed vistaar of this raag to fully grasp the raag.Just one chalan is not enough for the students to fully understand the raag-there is a need to include the essential phrases and the swar sangathees-I repeat the statement that the anchor here seems to be in a hurry to get to the bandish-she seems to be in a hurry to catch the train back home. You have managed to get the knowledgeable people on this channel but you have failed to use them to get all the detailed information-this is a let down and a dissapointment and a major weak point in the dissemination of knowledge. Its very sad to note this-the CECofficials should take this into consideration because if they invite any ustad to assess this program they will agree with my opinion. A good eample of a song in this raag is "Mere mehboob tujhe meri mohabath ki kasam" by Rafi saheb. Sarita Yajurdevi did an excellent job
Reading the above comment is a disappointment. First that the comment may be coming from an erudite and knowlegeable person in music. Second his assessment is though intricate but out of context as I listen to this channel to understand the steping stones of music which the hosts are doing through tutorials. Music education must be gradual as the science education. Seven nodes are like the laws of nature in science, brought to students gradually. Fast learners soon begin to follow idea and knowledge creaters. I believe Manivel Sahayam could reflects upon this point that beginners first confront: where to start and how to proceed. Imagine an infant needs to first stand up and to take only one step to run later. It is an humble submission that after following this particular lesson, I could sing a bhajan in Raag Jhinjhoti on harmonium.
IF I WAS THE HOST I WOULD ASK THE GUEST TO DEMONSTRATE A COMPREHENSIVE ALAAP OF THE RAAG PLUS THE SWAR SANGATHEES WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY USEFUL AND HELPFUL TO BOTH THE NEW STUDENTS AND THE OLD. THIS LADY IS ALWAYS IN A HURRY TO GET TO THE BANDISH.MY ADVICE TO THIS SEMI-LITERATE LADY IS THIS: THERE ARE MANY BANDISHES ON YOU TUBE SO DONT KILL THE ESSENCE OF THIS PROGRAM.
Mr.Sahayam I think you have some personal problem with the female -host...Any show has its limitations..may be she is perticularly a host and not a music expert..As a host she is amazing and commendable.. There is one more host present here ,who is a male and looks like he has good knowledge of music ..why don't you expect him to ask required questions?? you sound like an expert of Indian classical music but let me very humbly tell you that respecting other humans (specially women) is the basic quality of a good artist that you really lack to have...
This show is not to maintain your classical mood ...This is for students to grab knowledge about a perticular rag and songs are the best way to introduce any rag to the students...
