Excellent rendition by Abhyankarji 🙏🏼 Excellent discussion and explanation of the Raga Kedar… Mukundji has a very beautiful voice… Brilliant programme!
He is wonderful. Very very effecient as a teacher of music...giving so many similies in the explanation. Great guruji. His students are very fortunate. My heart felt thanks to the chanel. The interviewing members are doing a great job.. Dr. Nandita Data ji.....is an excellent interview er. It is a very beautiful way of interviewing... Lecture demminstration on film songs based on classical ragas is wonderful. Very educative. My regards to one and all.
a lot of Hindustani ragas used in Malayalam film songs ..similarly Kalamandalam Hyderali s sucess is he used Hindustani ragas in kathakali songs probably for the first time ..
This is pure bliss to listen velvet soft voice of Abhayankar ji. Very nice accompanying on harmonium and tabla, Very nice anchoring too. Why programs like this discontinued, It must be resumed as soon as possible
Two very important and essential elements have been overlooked in most of your videos. They are: elaborate and comprehensive raag vistaars and swar sangathees(note cominations or clusters of notes). There is a need to eplain how to take a note in a raag and then combine with other notes to orm a musical phrase in that particular raag for example the note ni in raag yaman-you can combine these notes with ni-mdn- dnrs-nrs-nrg-nrgrs-nrgmp-nrgmdns. Here we can see the note ni being combined with other relevant notes to form phrases. This kind of information would be very useful to all and would be very helpfful in the composition process. Anyway a good effort by Humanities to provide raga information.
Absolutely phenomenal presentation by Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar ji. However, there is a feeling of tickling superficialness about his Jaane de mori - compared to his Guruji and I think it is because of his approach to the voice treatment. The older generation had a tinge of real world authenticity which is lacking in stage version smoothness of the next generation. Kala Ramnath being an exception due to violin and her treatment of the instrument.
I distinctly remember interview of Pt. Bhimsen Joshi around 1981 on दूरदर्शन a Marathi interview. When he was asked that Pt. Ravi Shankar has once said that there is nothing like times of presenting rag. Any rag can be played any time. That time Pt. Bhimsenji had said , "He (Ravi) is international artist. He is entitled to say any thing. Dr. shekhar Paranjpe.
Shekhar Paranjpe ,I agree with Pt Ravishankar and that’s why such an old system like the Carnatic Music system doesn’t follow this concept and this aspect cannot be a differentiating factor
Just imagine how many ragas will disappear from public platform. Most concerts are held in the evening or night. Pressures on time means concerts cannot go on for hours. Some seasons are more likely to attract audience than others. With careers, work shifts, calendar restrictions, and such, it is not very pragmatic to stick to age old restrictions as to when ragas can be performed.
The great Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan is reported to have done extensive research on these aspects and reached the same conclusion as Pandit Ravi Shankar.
Well See you can ofcourse sing any raag at any time but it's effect will be reduced. For example listen to lalit in early morning and in afternoon you yourself will feel less attached.
Beautiful rendition, a request if possible do a session on raag Kaushi Kanada. As it is a complex raag, the discussion will be a great help for students to understand it.
