This jacket is gorgeous. Given that I'm already a huge fan of Rab and own 14 of their down jackets and 2 Rab synthetic fill jackets, I don't think I'll stretch to this. But its great to see the attention to detail and continued innovation. I'd still love to try it on though. I'm sure its super comfortable. Ideally I'd love to wear it on a really cold day to see how well it performs. My Rab Axion Pro jacket is my favourite so I'm sure this one is even better.
The Axion Pro is one that I haven't got! I am currently deciding which to use as an everyday Winter jacket... The Positron, Positron Pro and Neutrino Pro. I have all three, but can't decide..!
@@ipodgooroo Well good news, the Axion Pro is still available and is now in even more colors! Mine is an older color, Atlantis (basically a teal green). As for which one to wear as an everyday winter jacket. I’d probably go with the one with the least amount of down (weight) namely the Neutrino Pro? Why? Well, you said an everyday winter jacket. Thus a lighter jacket better fits that criteria. More weighty jackets are meant for colder and more specialist conditions.
@@ipodgooroo Although I would say a Neutrino Pro is still a technical or specialist jacket. That being said I do wear my technical down jackets to the store, to work, going for a walk as well as hiking out on the trail. I love that a jacket I can wear for work can also keep me warm and comfortable inside my sleeping bag on a cold night. I admit I sometimes get curious glances when I wear jackets such my Rab Women’s Electron Pro, Women’s Pulsar or Women’s Axion Pro or around town or my Women’s Electron Pro vest to work but I really don’t care. I’m warm and comfortable and I think they look really nice.
@@ipodgooroo When choosing a jacket to wear in the winter, I generally use the weather to help. If the temperature is less than 50 degrees F (10 C), I would wear my Rab Women’s Microlight Alpine jacket or my Microlight Summit jacket. If its particularly chilly I’ll wear my Women’s Microlight vest, Rab Women’s Electron Pro vest or Rab Women’s Cirrus vest underneath either of these jackets. I’ll consider some gloves too such as the Rab Women’s Phantom Grip gloves.
@@ipodgooroo As a simpler alternative my Rab Women’s Electro Pro jacket is also good for this temperature. If the temperature was 40 degrees F (5 C) or less I would instead wear one of my even more puffier jackets such as my Rab Women’s Pulsar jacket, the Rab Women’s Deep Cover Parka or the Rab Women’s Axion Pro jacket. When its this cold, I’ll wear my padded Rab Khroma Freeride GTX Gloves which fit nicely over the puffy sleeves of these jackets. If I owned this Mythic Ultra jacket I would wear it in this temperature range or even lower.
Rab makes awesome down jackets. I own a few but I think one jacket you guys are missing is an ultra high warmth to weight ratio in the 400-500g range that has drop pockets and an external chest pocket. I used to own an Infinity down parka but have since replaced it with the Positron pro because it fits me better. The Zero G is fantastic, but it lacks chest and/or hip pockets. Please make it happen, perhaps modify the "Mythic Alpine", since the "mythic alpine" is just the same thing as the "Mythic Alpine Light" with a little more down.
Hi there, our Mythic Ultra jacket is probably the best thing for these requirements in our range, weighing 537g in a Men's Medium. It has a large external chest pocket, and boasts 900FP goose down alongside our TILT technology
