Antisemitism? Here? Now? Rabbi Cosgrove teaches that the aftermath of October 7 has revealed not only verbal and physical attacks, but a “higher antisemitism” - a societal attitude that Jewish lives don’t matter.
I'm an American-Israeli and found out exactly who a few of my non-Jewish "friends" really are and what they are made of on Oct 7. I'm still sickened by them and which side they chose. It's lovely to read your post.Thank you for siding with us. You are a tzadik ... a good and righteous man.
Thank you for your eloquence and profound words that offer both salve and a sense of activism in times of terror that remind us we are never safe and all of our actions are significant.
I am Catholic and I stand with my elder brothers and sisters.I am grateful for all that the Jewish faith and culture has given to the world. Stand with Israel
Intellectually distinct and clear. I am grateful to have access to this level of understanding. Incredibly Helpful. Thank you, Rabbi and Park Avenue Synagogue.
Thank you very much for the great sermon! I found it online purely by chance. Now, you gain one more (virtual) member of your congregation. It's time for me to leave Reform and join Conservative temple. At Reform, I am puking at every sermon - no more. Thank you again.
Rabbi Cosgrove, I live in Ithaca, New York and my fiancée and I have received much comfort from your sermons this entire month. Todah rabah! עם ישראל חי🇮🇱🇮🇱💙💙
Your words of wisdom are truly inspiring. Since it is difficult for my husband to attend services as was our habit, we are grateful to be able to tune in to PAS. We were married in Israel some 60 years ago and therefore have always been so attached. The horror of October 7th was not what one would have expected, an attack from Hamas, maybe, because of internal divisions in Israel, but not such a heinous crime. It’s unbelievable that the institutions of higher learning in this country have not had the moral fortitude to denounce Hamas for the brutality shown on that day. To kidnap children, babies and the elderly is not enough to move their consciousness, is amazing to me and all Jews. Thank you again for your powerful words. Am Yisroel Chai!
As a non-Jewish Israelite, I stand with my Jewish brothers. Israel needs defendable borders and that means that Judea, Samaria, and Gaza have to be under 100% control of the IDF, whether you like it or not. The experiment with Gaza autonomy proved it. The state of Israel represents a unique cultural and spiritual worth in the Middle East, among offshoots of the Abbasid Empire. "Palestinian Arabs", or Arabized people, have vast areas of land in the Levant and North Africa, where they can go and easily get assimilated. They could also choose Judaisation. After all, they are former Christian people, like the nation that I represent. Yet they choose hate, instead of peace.
@@sheikowi thank you for your response I never heard of the christian stole before, I just looked it up. I'm shocked that's terrible 😔 I thought as Jews we are proud of our culture and history. Why would anyone want to alter our beautiful tallit which our grandparents prayed in for thousands of years and adapt it to look like a christian stole?!
