Oh my goodness I always listen to Rav Cherky in French and I would have never imagined a conversation with Rabbi Friedman!! Décidément une belle surprise!!!
Kol ha-Kavod, Gavriel! Congratulations on your first great video! The conversation format offers a lot of insight - especially regarding to the monologue videoformat of the two guests' channels. Your personal opening statement had reached me. So I will share some impressions: I was really astonished by how little R. Friedman actually knew about R. Cherky's agenda and work (especially since Chabad promotes the importance of Noahide values with great effort). What saddened me were some of the choice of words and framing of perspectives when it came to "universality" and "global message". For example at the end when Friedman looks at the world and mentions "they are not donkeys". So here we are? Nevertheless, the two should discuss more often! In general, the conversation format opens up more weight and perspectives on jewish learning, perspectives and tectonics... (Thanks also for the reference to R. Léon Ashkenazi - there are no translations in English or other languages in Europe, but If you have recommendations I will look them up also in français). I'm looking forward to the next videos, perhaps Lawrence Keleman or Tovia Singer? But for now I'll stick with the first video and explore the background. (Thank you so much for the subtitles!) Keep it up!
