King Hezekiah did not order and establish David's throne or any kingdom from his time forward and forever. The end of his reign was the beginning of the downfall of the kingdom. Read verse 7 "Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. I just checked 2 versions of the Christian Bibles, King James and NIV, both do not use the future tense of the verb. KJV says "For unto us a child is born..." NIV does not have it as a future tense. I'm curious which versions you read that are future tense. thanks

I looks like Tovia has missed it once again. The big miss is that YHWH became flesh in the Messiah, and Jesus is that one. This is why the idea of a human sacrifice isn't on the table because Jesus wasn't human, He is God. So Isaiah 9:6 is a perfect match to what Jesus is. The reality is the God of Israel is so much closer than we can know. YHWH came to you and spilled His blood on the Ark of the Covenant to account for sin.

2 Samuel 7 is interesting in contrast with Isaiah 9:7 in verse 14 of 2 Samuel 7 it says I will be his father, and he will be my son. WHEN he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands would it say such a thing of Jesus? Btw. the genealogy Mt 1:2-16 in G-Mt says it is of Yeshua, not of Mary the wife of Yosef. It is not of royal line of kings of Israel. kings are only in 1:6 - 12. NT says Mary is a relative of Elizabeth who is from the line of Aaron, not David. If you don't believe what NT cleanly says, ask rabbi Tovia to help you.

Matthew must of missed this one.

Isaiah didn't write with chapter and verse notations so how modern people break chapters, number verses or commandment lists or combine or separate multi part Psalms is not a big big concern. Chapter breaks can make it harder to see flow and connection, so often it's best to ignore chapter breaks when reading though as they are often a distraction I think there is a sense that as men with fallen sin natures even Moses the greatest lawgiver doesn't enter the promised land and King Solomon leaves a broken divided kingdom, but this person will. The government will be on his shoulders, like an Atlas holding the world figure. This is entirely appropriate to a second Adam with unfallen nature who can do more than Moses or Solomon or even David who was not allowed to build the temple, the church. Was God with those titles naming the child 'prince of peace" or was the child given those titles. Perhaps a matter for further study. That is an interesting point to consider. By the way, ' El Gibor' the mighty God is only used one other place in the Old testament, Turn the page and El Gibor, the mighty God, is also used in chapter 10 where it is 'the God of Jacob'. I think you are way overstating the New Testament doesn't quote argument I would say there are direct quotes and there are literary allusions not direct quotes and Dan 9 seems to me alluded to in both the temple sermon and when Jesus gave the short reply about his identity you will see the son of man coming from the clouds claimed much of Daniel. Also quoting one verse like Jesus quoting Ps 22:1 from the cross is shorthand for the whole chapter so I am loathe to disagree that all of Ps 22 was not referred to in the gospels. When Jesus warns believers to flee the city when armies surround Jerusalem that can be an allusion to the whole of Daniel 9.

The problem with your view is that Hezekiah does not fulfill the rest of the Prophesy so it must be some one else and Jesus does, His Kingdom has lasted 2000 years and is still going strong and will go on EVEN FOR EVER. Isa 9 That the government may be increased, And of peace there be no end, Upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, To establish it, and to uphold it Through justice and through righteousness From henceforth EVEN FOR EVER. The zeal of the LORD of hosts doth perform this. If Hezekiah was to fulfill Isa 9:9 Where is this Kingdom?

I just love when Christians try and quote Rabbis and sages. It's like the last gasp. Plus not a single one of them who posts these lengthy quotes has ever really read it themselves. It's all cut and pasted from websites. We all know this so you guys can stop pretending. Not a single Christian text can survive the very first fulfillment citation in Matthew. Matthew says that Jesus was born of a virgin and had to be to fulfill the prophecy. This is from Matthew 1:23 And it is drawn from Isaiah 7:14. Christians, you can try to tell people who can read Hebrew that Almah means virgin all day long but we know it doesn't. You like saying it cuz it makes you feel better. But beyond that, please explain why the definite article is removed, the pronoun is changed and the tense is altered? Once you get past that, why don't you explain how that is a Messianic prophecy in context? Anyone who reads this I challenge you to do something very simple and it doesn't matter which translation you use. Open up to Isaiah 7 and read through from the beginning of seven to the end of eight. Don't try to pretend you're doing this objectively if all you're doing is trying to convince yourself that you are currently correct. Just read the words. Afterward, ask yourself how does any of this pertain to the birth of a future Messiah 700 years in the future? The prophecy was fulfilled in the time of Isaiah. The religion of Christians is not 'Christianity' but 'Christianism' - evolved into diverse forms of churches, denominations, sects and cults, e.g., Catholicism, Protestantism, Mormonism, etc. Christianity is not a religion and does not belong to the category of religion. Obviously this passage cannot apply to Jesus because the Trinity clearly states that the Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Spirit and the Spirit is not the Father. So Jesus can't be called "heavenly Father" because christianity says that the Son is not the Father.

They that where the mantel of the heir of the promise, or the anointed of Lord, are signs of what the messiah will come and do. Many of these signs are seen through their births. Anytime someone claims to shock you with biblical interpretation you shouldn't get overly excited. True shocking interpretations are usually either modern versions of old heresies or rehashing of old information meant to counteract newer interpretations.
