My hamster passed away in March and the reason I got him was because of you, and the reason he had a ginormous cage was because of you! Thank you so much for informing me and everyone else without you my hamster would’ve lived in a critter trail his whole life. You inspire me so much and I really enjoy your videos! ❤️
my hamster turned 1 in march so he’s very old now but he lives with my friend since we had to move and every time i ask for a picture she never sends one so i’m started to think he died 🙁

I’m sad because my hamster just died by escaping his cage, I just checked his cage and he wasn’t there so I took out all his stuff from his cage and he wasn’t in it and I have 2 dogs so I assume they ate him 😩 (edit: I found Him 2 days later after I said this comment)
If you weren’t able to find any evidence of them eating him I wouldn’t give up so fast, it’s possible he’s found a place that is hidden so it would be good to still look for him.
My hamster just got an eye infection and all the vet don't come till Tuesday but this 1 LIFE SAVING vet said I will cancel my plans and come today at 7 30 so please pray he will do ok! Also very cute!!! Super exited!!

Hey Victoria! I recently got a long haired hamster (this is only the third long haired hamster I’ve owned) and the place I got it from gave them horrible living conditions and his hair is now the most matted I’ve ever seen a hamster. It has bedding Stuck in his hair too! What should I do?
@@will3tcole You can find tiny scissors (often in pharmacies or groceries depending on country) that are made for cutting baby's nails, or ones made for trimming nose hair, that are smaller and easier to use for trimming your buddy's fur

Hi Victoria my hamster keeps freezing and we know how to make him freeze just by pressing his back and when we first did it we thought it was funny but he keeps doing it and I’m concerned he keeps freezing does anybody know why?
You're sure they're a male? Sounds like he may actually be a female in heat as when touched their tail stands up and they freeze in that position for breeding, because they think whatever is touching them is a male.

Hi Victoria so i was thinking about making my own homemade mixture food for my hamsters and i made my own recipe so could you please say if the ingredients are safe and healthy? Ingredients: -peeled sesame -chia seeds -pumpkin seeds -sunflower seeds -quinoa seeds -cashews -rice (uncooked) -senegalese millet -some dry vegetables mix -oats -freeze-dried spinach -carrot flakes -corn -corn flakes -peas -pea flakes -meal worms -dried crickets -dried banana -dried strawberries
Everything does look safe! But depending on the type of hamster you have I would be careful with the amount of sugary ingredients like the corn, & corn flakes, carrot flakes, peas & pea flakes, dried strawberry, dried banana. I would look into adding more seeds and grains that are lower in sugar & fat.

Does anyone have any advice on taming hamsters I got my Chinese dwarf hamster 2 weeks ago and he warmed up to me by the 3rd day and he would run up my hand and take food from me but now just two days ago he would run up to your hand and he would bite really hard I’ve gushed blood 4 times and he still takes food from me but he is still a baby so maybe he just does feel safe enough idk sorry for the long comment

So I just got my teddy bear hamster yesterday. He’s in a 110 qt bin cage that I found in good condition in my storage room. (cleaned it out ) But i couldn’t find the lid for it I made sure he can’t escape the bin cage although he does try for some reason? Is that normal ? He has a large enough floor space and I took away some bedding from the corner so I can assure he can’t escape . I’ll be getting a lid and mesh in 2 weeks :(( but is it normal for hamsters to try and stand up and escape
Hi! Syrian hamsters are in general very hard to please and need a lot of space! I wouldn't necessarily say he has a large enough cage because that's not really up to us to decide, a hamster can still be unhappy in an enclosure over the minimum. I typically encourage people to aim for 800-1,000 SQ inches of floorspace especially for syrian hamsters so that you're able to provide all the necessary enrichment to try and prevent them from being unhappy.

Is it true that hamsters should have 1-2 table spoons of seed mix/pellets a day or every two days, and 1-2 tea spoons of fresh fruit and veg a day I’ve been doing fat from research on google and my hamster is healthy!
Depends on the hamster really and how much they eat. Up to 2 tablespoons of veg every day really seems like quite a lot, I'd worry about it getting hoarded and going bad.
Wait, for the food, what were the seeds and things, like lentils and stuff? I know you don’t share the recipe but just some of the things that may be more common?
So in my mix, I use; pot barley, millet, Kamut, brown rice, fennel seed, sorghum, steel-cut oats, puffed quinoa, spelt, chia seeds, flax seeds, amaranth, buckwheat groats, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, mung beans, chickpeas, green & red lentils, split peas, freeze-dried: butternut squash, bell pepper, sweet potatoes, zucchini, broccoli, mealworms and freeze-dried chicken :)

Hi Victoria! So I’ve had my hamster for a few months and when I first got him he wasn’t as shy as he is now he would let me hold him sometimes and would even come to me. His cage was at bare minimum for about a month but I upgraded it and ever since he doesn’t care for me and doesn’t even come out for me to see him. I’ll wait up all night until sometimes 3 am and then go back and hide, last night I got home really late and I seen he was out but when I turned my light on to the lowest setting he still went and hid. I don’t know what to do because I have to at least spot clean his nest where he pees because I haven’t done it in awhile since he never even comes out. It makes me sad, I also don’t remove all of the bedding to make it less stressful. Please give me some advice 😫
Some hamsters become ghost hamsters, I rarely see Lenny and when I do it's only for a short time. If you need to spot clean a certain area like the nest just wait until the time they're usually awake and go in and do it as long as they're awake and you're gentle they'll be fine :)

The only way to determine a death is through a necropsy, but I wouldn't blame the bin unless you 100% know. Hamsters have terrible genetics, especially if you’re purchasing from a large chain petstore who is getting their hamsters from rodent mills. A large factory that has disgusting conditions, over breeding animals until they’re no longer useful to them and breeding without any regard for health. Therefore leads hamsters to be more prone to genetic conditions passed down like heart disease, organ failure, tumours/cancer etc. There could be a multitude of things that could have been wrong with them that you wouldn’t have been able to physically see.
Early love your vids I have a hamster named vanilla she’s about 7-12 months and she isn’t really chewing on her chew toys but she has 7 inches of kaytee bedding tons of chew toys, a big wheel healthy food, clean water and occasional treats and a her cage is 40 gallons. What do I do for her to chew on them? I tried sunflower butter it worked a little but she lost interest after 2 mins. Love your channel though your a very impressive animal owner and you take care of them with all your heart, tell Lenny I say hi🙂.
Thank you!❤️ It's okay if they're not chewing on their chews as long as they have hard foods in their diet and lots of natural materials incase they do want to chew!
Ahhh just had a scary thought about Lenny. Home thought was that he had some of those old man glasses and he had a walking stick and he was a hunchback. If Lenny was a 80 year old that’s what I think he would lion like. Then I remembered that he is only 2! 😂
