Boy I miss doing that yep I didn't even kill a rabbit love to hear the dogs. Even if I was running deer with dogs just like rabbit hunting if I didn't even kill a deer love to hear the dogs run
Can anyone explain why you run a pack of hounds for a rabbit. Only thing I can think is that the others are in training. I only ever hunted with 1 hound and the rabbits were taken at a slow pace just a head of the hound.
Christina Moneyhan- I would like to briefly educate you on hounds. First off beagles are pack dogs, secondly anyone of those four dogs in that video can solo a rabbit back to the gun. I myself run my dogs solo very often as I feel solo is the most important training time a dog needs! The majority of the running i do is first for my own enjoyment of watching the dogs run, and secondly for training and preparing the dogs for AKC Field Trials. It takes time, dedication, and many hours in the field to keep these guys running at there prime! It’s not for everyone but for me as I said in the video…..Pretty, Pretty, Pretty!!
@@toddestrela1548 yes I understand what you are saying. I too ran single dogs. I guess I have also noticed others running multipole dogs and never could figure out why. Now I know it’s field trials. Thank you sir.
@@johnnaugher2832 besides the delicious rabbit meal you might get, the 1 Beagle hunt will show you just how good you dog is or can be. I on a stood for 45 minuets while my dog chased a rabbit clear out of sound for quite awhile but, I waited patiently and sure enough ba👍👍👍ck came supper. Damn good Beagle.
