Rabbit mom giving birth to 1 baby bunny 

To those saying not to touch the babies after they are born or else the mother won’t feed them: Would you have left the hairless still bloody baby on the cold tile floor to die? Rabbits only abandon or eat their babies if strangers or people they don’t trust touch their babies, even then sometimes they don’t. Every doe is different, some are more picky, some are more laid back. It all depends on the doe. Personally I’ve had my Flemish giant doe (who had a nest all ready made) jump on my bed with me and give birth next to me because she wanted comfort. Although I never touch does or bother them when they are giving birth if they ask for comfort of course they’ll get it. Rabbits are prey animals and while they are giving birth they are easiest to catch. Therefore they don’t normally like being touched but that being said, it doesn’t mean the doe won’t come back for her babies. After giving birth it is normal for the mother to eat the placenta and clean the baby and then leave. Does do not stay with the babies. They come back to feed them once or twice a day, again depending on the doe and the amount of milk she produces. This makes me very happy, especially because we thought both of ours were male (everyone did, even the sellers) but one turned out to be a female and was pregnant to 3 babies and she gave birth in the middle of a winter night, they didn't survive and are buried in the garden. So watching this made me very happy

Rabbits do not abandon their kits if they are handled. That's a myth! My girl had one, and she didn't feed it. It was cold and wrinkly after more than 24h. He spent the next few days in my shirt and I bottle-fed him. I gave him back to his mom after a few days to see if she would start feeding him, which she did.

That's a pet rabbit, and seems like one that was raised indoors, weird that she only had 1 baby. My dwarf lop, who looked exactly like her, had a litter of 8. She was a first time mom, and she gave birth in the afternoon all by herself, all grew up into very healthy rabbits, we got most of them adopted, think it was 3 that we gave to a garden centre that sold pet rabbits, coincidentially the same place where we bought her lol.

the mom was hiding her face because she was wanting to be left alone not have a camera stuck in her face. ran away most likely thinking you'd come after her and leave her baby alone. it's a wonder she fed them at all after you touched them right after birth. animals know what to do if people would back off.
