This is a legal way of snaring rabbits on the island of Newfoundland where we are mandated to use 22 gauge brass wire or 7 strand picture cord wire. However it has become a common practice used by fishermen as a means of making as many snares as possible out of the wire they had, by tying the end of the snare to a piece of string. After a 75% breakage in my snares earlier in the week, I felt it is only right to try and resolve that issue with the 22 gauge brass wire. I'm hoping this works, if not, I'll be going back to using flip-up snares. I feel I owe it to the rabbits/hares I snare to harvest them as effectively as possible.
