I'm impressed. It takes a lot to impress me with a new pickup as the market is so saturated. However, not to blow smoke, but when Rabea and Bare Knuckle team up for a new pickup, I get excited. Especially that bridge pickup. So many sets fall flat with a thin bridge single coil pickup, and this is one of the few that just don't. The plate trick works and the rest of the set sound very calibrated to make every position the best. Now that this video is out, I would love to see an A/B of plastic vs metal pickguard to expand on your earlier comment. Cheers.
these pickups are sublime. I have always used the Pat Pending '63 Bareknuckles with Zinc plate on Bridge. The sound of these new pickups are what I have always tried to get. Looks like I will be ordering a set for my EJ Strat.
That alnico III bridge pickup sounds nice and full. I'm a dedicated HSS-player - currently Crawler-Irish Tours set - but this set seems quite flexible too. All my guitars have BKP's.
Is there anyone who has tried both The Triptych sets and The Trilogy sets?, i wonder how those two Pickup sets are different in terms of the usual clean Strat sound and the high gain sound?
Revisiting this vid after the newest TPS video. What is BKP's recommended wiring? RWRP? Tone control wiring - traditional or EJ-style? Thinking of ordering a pre-wired guard direct
We would usually default to RWRP and a bridge tone mod to give you maximum flexibility on a classic Strat set, but some players certainly do prefer the slightly more crisp tone in positions 2 and 4 that come with running a stock polarity middle coil. It's really down to personal preference and whether the extra spank, or a little bit of noise cancellation would be more important to you
can you tell me the wire guage of the sinner ? 43 or 44 ? no mention on web site except for ....SPECIFICATION Position: Bridge DC Resistance: 21.5 kΩ Magnet: Alnico 5 Position: Middle DC Resistance: 15.5 kΩ Magnet: Alnico 5 Position: Neck DC Resistance: 15.5 kΩ Magnet: Alnico 5
All of our Tele pickups are true singlecoils, so each pickup doesn't hum-cancel on its own, but you can spec pairs / sets of coils so that they hum-cancel when you run a couple of pickups together.
will you have a set for. tele eventually? All my guitar gear has become "Rabea Massed" recently, not because of fan boying but because genially after testing so many different thing, the Massed stuff just resonates with me.
The Trilogy set has more output, more midrange and more low end. The Triptych set has quite a modest output, with a classic '60s vibe, where the Trilogy set is more powerful and contemporary.
They sound great, kind of like my Fralin blues specials which has an inductance plate under the bridge pu.. the freeway 10 way switch and a treble bleed circuit round it out as the perfect 3 single set for me.
They sound great man- I've got an Affinity Strat HSS model I'm about to turn into a SSS model. Someone gave me a CV 70s HSS Strat for xmas so- I no longer play the Affinity. And since you can't really sell one for enough to make it worth the time and effort- I think I'll turn it into a parts-caster. Need to get a good neck on it first- make sure I can get a neck on it that I want to invest in. Can anyone recommend a neck that's ready to be put on, higher quality, but reasonably affordable? I guess I could just buy a Fender neck huh? I've seen guys put them on Squiers- they fit perfectly- no adjustments required usually. Buy a preloaded SSS pickguard- and install it. Then I could have the frets leveled and crowned and all that jive, and a good setup done. And it's finished. You know I may end up with something I like even better than my Classic Vibe HSS huh?
I was going to sell my strat because i have never been in the strat sound but this set could be what i was looking for... Only one problem with it. How now uk is out of europe and i am from spain i have to pay an extra 30% more of foes and taxes.... It's too expensive 😢😢😢😢
The prices to the EU haven't changed very much at all, as we used to have to charge you 20% UK VAT, but now you get it VAT free from us, but have to pay domestic VAT in Spain. Hopefully you'll get to try a set of these out!
@@BKPickupsin Italy it’s literally a theft. 25-30% plus taxes on the tax itself. But we’ll, that’s Italy. I just paid 85 euros to retrieve a humbucker and a HSP90. 😑
