Lyndon, how do I get on your crew?! Lots of desert experience, bike mechanic, vehicle mechanic, enthusiastic (altho slow) dirt rider. Need help next year?
I really appreciate the effort of everyone on your team Lyndon. The video and even Facebook posts are something I look forward to each day. Thank you all.
Hey Lyndon, if you ever were to read this comment, this could be a useful tip (not trying to teach anything): 1 meter of plastic tube, 8mm inner diameter should do the job plastic bag/can/anything to fill up temporarily with fuel slip the tube right down the "faulty" tank, start sucking through the tube and when fuel comes out, stick the tube in the bag/can/device you are using to temporarily store fuel keep said device lower than the fuel tank, fill it up when filled, take it up to the tank's fuel level, slip out the tube and block it with a finger, so not to lose the suction created empty the device in the tank you need repeat! in any case, super mechanic skills in the middle of nowhere, and to all the team, keep up the good job, you are definitely rocking it!!!
Many of us forget about the support team and vehicles. They have long days and receive little credit except w/ R2P videos. Kudos for showing how hard they work to keep the team competitive. Joey and Greg, you guys deserve a medal of honor for being true sportsmen. Always lending a hand where needed. LP racing team is top shelf!
Such a massive undertaking to get a team and 5 bikes through a rally like this, great effort. But a special kudos to the 2 lads doing the media work; absolutely top notch - particularly editing the on-bike in with the heli shots, loved that. Can't wait to see you all on that podium in Dakar, you'll have deserved it.
Impressed with the quality of the bike builds, making 5 bikes ultra reliable for an event like this must take a lot of work and planning, especially working to a budget, not like a factory race team. Hats off to Lyndon Poskitt Racing.
Each of you are so unique. Great bunch. I like the banter you have shown together. Fun times. A brotherhood of sorts. From what the vids show you are all becoming family. Thanks for taking me on your journey through your media. Ride safe gentlemen
This just gets better every day. Great to have the guided bike-tour, though I’ve seen most of it before in earlier episodes (and stood next to Rex bike on one occasion). Please don’t any of you put yourselves out of the Rally - we want to see the 5 of you there on the podium together, wherever you come in the final standings. Looks like all the competitors are getting tired with the number of spills and crashes in this video. Hope no lasting damage to anyone (Mike? Hope you’re OK, cos that looked mighty painful....). And how does Matt just get up and go after that “off”? Les
I now understand why Matt apologized when he got back with the navigation unit smashed 8 grand, an eye watering crash for both of you. Fantastic videos by the way, I have been watching the official Dakar videos and yours are far better.
That's brave to ride at a bunch of trees at that speed! I had to momentarily shut my eyes and hope for the best... 🤞but as usual Matt just rode on through......Awesome viewing!🤙💪
Indeed, congrats to Joey and Greg for keeping on the stage. And for helping a fellow competitor by sharing fuel! That is the true spirit of rally racing! And great going to all of Team Races-2-Places!
Sooo, wearing headphones, I watched Lyndon's trailside fuel stop. When he lost the tank bolt in the dust.. I yelled "Dammit" out of sympathy... waking my peacefully napping girlfriend.. Dammit... I'm not sure whats worse, losing time in a race due to fuel or waking her up...
Such a great series lads, fantastic content. I've never had much interest in riding offroad, but these vids and your Dakar series last year have got me wandering now... 👍
Great coverage (as usual!) thank-you very much. I thought Joey was the funniest guy in your group, but Matt's giving him a run for his money (Aussie $'s? Worth about the same as Canuck ones 😁). Best of luck for the remaining stages!
I am completely loving the all the videos you guys are so working so hard to deliver. If I had more to give I would have because it is worth it. Thank you all for the amazing work and dedication. As a new rider with 1 year of experiance I am dreaming of my first race, albeit on an Africa Twin but It will have to do. lol. Rock On!
Lyndon I love the race coverage, sooo good! That's what I want to watch, not the slow bike build, organizing, parts bins, lorry assemblage and tripping to ferries. I want that gut busting racing. That part is awesome. Just sayin.
So great to be able to ride along with you guys from the comfort of my couch. Thanks goes out to your media team for all their hard work! I can't wait to get back at it on the bike once all this snow disappears here in Canada. Love the run down on the bike. I'm a bit of a gear nut and it's great to see what goes into the KTM rallye bike set-up. Can you do something similar on the rider gear from braces, pads, suite, etc?
This coverage is awesome! I'm following every episode with rabid interest. Thank-you for making this possible. Suggestion: When showing the stage results and the overall results, it would be really interesting to also see the first 5 or so positions of riders not on the R2P team. I'm very curious how Lyndon and Matt doing in the overall field. How much faster is the #1 rider? How much time did Lyndon lose to the 3rd place rider today? Etc.
Loving the videos, anxious every day for the next one. Thanks for the information about the bikes, I've been wondering ever since I saw the dyno testing.
What is the weight of the bike kitted out but not loaded? Then, the weight difference with you lined up ready to depart on a stage? The cars talk a lot about this weight difference when traversing dunes.
An idea from an admirer. In your man bag you need to add a length of fuel tube....and a zip lock bag...makes siphoning out fuel for yourself or to help others easier :-).
Another Awesome episode! This one got all my emotions going!👍🤣🤐😭 Q. Lyndon thanks for excellent info on the bikes.l was just wandering when you mentioned that your bike is 2019 and other 4 are 2020 if you had a faulty batch fuel pump on your older version bike?👍
Nice to see more detail on the bikes mate … What rear sprockets are you using? Steel or 7075? And if 7075 how often do you change them (and the chains) in that sand?
Where do you get get used Rally bikes and/or used Rally bike parts? Great vid, great episode, and I envy your drive and desire (whole team) to finish no matter what. 👍
Not sure if I missed this in one of the early episodes, but am I right in assuming the boys paid a certain amount of money to get the team package of bikes, gear and support? I know the main Dakar race cost a fortune just to enter, is there any chance a round sort of figure can be mentioned to the view so we can get a real appreciation of the sacrifice to do one of these events?
Yeah, the Dakar, doesn't go to Dakar. I felt it should not use the name if it wasn't going there. I get why they stopped (once, manyt of the racers were held hostage, other times they lost competitors to land mines) But if you ain't even on the continent, drop the name. It's all trademarking though.
