Battle for 3rd: A great display of the side-draft effect before it was brought to our attention as a technique. Used to always be amazed how much a bump and run impacted the lead driver, now understanding it’s the secondary consequence of side-drafting that brings the vast difference of speed.

Mark Winterbottom originally finished third, but was penalised for bumping into Tim Slade on the final lap. Slade and co-driver Tony D'Alberto were promoted to third.

Murph was a great driver at his best, but his worst is still as bad as some of the rookie drivers... really can't excuse his mistake before you clear the start line - even if someone else's car has failed to get off the line properly... He has more than enough experience to know there is often a problem launching these cars of the line.. pretty ordinary for his team mate James Courtney... This reminds me of how Murph ran into Ambrose at Bathurst by being a moron.
