HEEy! when are the new videos coming up, from the 2019 youngbirds!! i am hyped! this year i got my first pigeons ,builded my own loft and got some racing pigeons!
Viewing some past videos ... on the GPS tracking system ... wanted to view if birds have a constant fly zone to home ... sometimes they wonder off there fly zone ... but quickly settled in on there tracking system ... birds released what was there release times in between ... possible to short of a wait time maybe that’s why they caught up to each other ... ???? 😯 miss your videos ...
Thank you for showing your racing season. It showed me things I could expect. I retired and now I am looking to get into the sport of flying/racing pigeons. After the holidays I will begin building a loft. Also thank you for the video on how to vaccinate your pigeons.
Sean, very nicely written and summed up ... I was waiting until you came out and explain your situation ... truly my feelings and thoughts are in line with yours ... yes, YB's season to tough for them ... with only 2 races from the island of Maui and 6 races from the island of Hawaii ... I believe the combine and its members should realign YB's season ... should have more races from Maui less from Hawaii ... also, I believe clubs should train more off island ... I think this method would reduce bird loses in the future ... thank you again for coming out and clarifying your MIA ... for all we hope you would return soon maybe in OB's season ... 🙏👍 take care my friend ... oh yea, is today 1st YB races ...
Hello Sean! My son and I have been watching all your videos... Love this channel, the music, the birds, everything. Hope to see more of your videos soon. Aloha Pigeons! God bless!
Hi Sean, Are you going to make more videos on your birds and if so when? I didn't see if you record and sent out on the last race of the 2018 young bird season how did your bird do? The last time video was published 10/05/2018. Thanks Sean.
Hi E. Cool, that bird came back from that last race but it was the second day. I decided not to enter him in the few remaining races. My work is getting in the way of pigeon stuff so not sure when I will upload an update. Thanks for your question. Aloha, Sean
Congrats man. What clocking system are you using? Also, the bird may be taking his time because he needs more motivation. Do you keep him separated from the hens all week and show them before basketing or anything like that? We will have out first race tomorrow and hopefully dad gets some good returns.
Thanks! I use the old Atis Top Benzing clock. I have not been keeping him separate only because him and his hen have a set of eggs that should be hatching soon. Best of luck on your race! Aloha, Sean
Well done Sean that bird is a superstar! Will be interesting to see if he comes faster when his eggs chip. After reading your answer to another subscriber about the amount of time spent you spend with the birds I would advise you to maybe think about going into partnership with someone else to share the workload. I am very fortunate to have my son interested so its quite easy but to try and be competitive and keep the wife happy is almost impossible on your own! You like many here in UK have experienced the worst year ever as far as losses go and this has driven myself and son to go into partnership with another local flyer. Again like you my son hates losing birds as it upsets him so he has decided he will breed the birds here at home and as babies move them over to my friends loft where myself and friend will race them. There's always a way my friend.....hope you can find yours. Looking forward to the next video. Andrew
First ..... 😅 Terrific .... Placed 16th & 90 th out of 53 & 394 birds that's Great .... Very good placement .... need to improve clocked time. Bird seems very calm .... Doesn't show he's fatigue .... Looks good for next weeks race. Maybe you can set up a bright orange tent in your yard .... Bird will easily recognize home .... Good luck and speedy returns on next race .... What breed is this bird?
Hi Sean, Dave here from NZ just a heads up on your Sky Leader GPS, I have just had trouble with mine, the batteries were stuck in the rings, took a bit of persuasion to get them out, and there is a build up of " acid " particles on the contacts much the same as the build up on a car battery terminal, I will keep the batteries out of the rings in future, ( I don't keep the rings on the birds ) I swap for the dummy rings on return, Cheers and good luck with your youngster,
Nice!... Even though he took a while to come back, he did pretty well on the Sheet. It was a tough race for all the birds as you said, so he didn't do too bad. And, he's hanging in there all by his lonesome! ;-)
Well crap! That kinda sucks. You need to move to the mainland and race in the SF Bay Area! Just a thought.. No water crossings here, just mountains.. ;-)
I can say one thing bravo to that bird it come home in the same day maybe not in the top 10 but not bad at all . You make nice videos , some day I replace my iPhone with a regular camcorder . What is the blood line of that bird ? I know some of the birds in the Hawaii island is the same blood line I will fly next year
If he makes it back from the race tomorrow, I will be sure to take a picture of his wings. Hope he makes it back. The race tomorrow is only 20 mile farther.
Hey Sean, How are your birds? I started with 60 birds for our season that starts the end of feb and I am down to 41. I couldn't imagine loosing all the birds you did this year. I hear Hawaii is a hard place to race. Hope you have a better season this year.
Hi Eric, great job with your birds! I’m glad to hear your season went well. I’ve been out of town for work for the last month so I won’t be able to fly young birds this year. But that’s okay. Wish you the best in the new year!
I hope you do well in your race I would like to make a request if you don’t mind and show us what kind of mix food do you feed your pigeons such when they’re on training, breeding, racing, young birds and so on Thanks in advance
Thanks! I can't say exactly what my feed schedule is out of respect to my mentor but I would like to make a future video about the different nutrients found in different feed.
