@potatoncarrots, Agreed. It takes a horse with real ability to win at the top level on both turf & conventional dirt, and though he's never tried it yet, I suspect he would be just as equally good on a synthetic surface like Polytrack or Tapeta should the need ever present itself for him to do it, which I would say is unlikely though.
Its crazy how much better thunder snow is compared to the awful derby he had ,,shows never give up on a horse ,now he be on track to be one of the best in a long time ,.
to me a misjudged by Jockey on #9 he gave the rail on the first curve for he didn't expect the Jockey #10 will pursue the lead, pag bukas ng aparato bakbakan na silang dalawa NABITBIT ng hinete #10 ang sakay niya ang tibay ng kabayo
Soumillon stole the race. No honest pace (The 3-y-o Mendelssohn went faster than him today). Soumillon had "never thought he could make the running from that draw." He is probably just another Prince Bishop or African Story. I don't even think he'll run in the Breeders Cup Classic.
I don't think Javier Castellano is a good fit for West Coast, they were crawling the whole way around, and Javier had an armbar lock on West Coast's reigns. Should have given West Coast's head, lead it and try to pull away on the final turn. Oh well just my .02, Thunder Snow is a quality animal however.
That "crawling the whole way around" is how European races are run. They don't turn on the afterburners until a furlong or two from the finish line. If West Coast had scooted to the lead early on, I still think Thunder Snow would have passed him in the last furlong. West Coast and the others obviously had nothing left in the tank at the end.
What happened to collected he was fat guarantee when he's on point he has a very good chance here especially the way west coast ran ,look what he did with gun runner
Well, West Coast definitely still has some work to do if he's going to emerge as the Horse of the Year contender people have been expecting. He didn't exactly run badly, but he never really kicked into gear, and barely holding off Mubtaahij by a head is not what anyone would call impressive. Still, great run by Thunder Snow; kind of ironic that after all the discussion of how bad the outside posts were, the two outer-most horses finished 1-2. Also, what happened to the announcer they always had for the Dubai World Cup before? This guy wasn't nearly as good.
