I just want to say thank you for uploading all of these videos. They’ve really helped me learn about a lot of types of racing from their origins.

Won by Clark? Or in 1965?

He binned it on about Stage 40. He was running well inside the Top 10 before that though and had set several fastest stage times despite it being his first full scale rally. The man was the real deal.

@@ougal84 Real deal, indeed. Memory (faulty) recalls he was Rally Champion one year? Special thanks to British Pathe for the inclusion of sound (!). Those were the days, my friend! But it makes me sad, now, too. So many drivers lost. Watching all of the old footage is a sad reminder. Well, regardless, thankful we have the film record; so many hours of it. And some in color, too! At my family's Thanksgiving dinner the subject of times past came up, and if you could, when/where would you go in your time machine? For me, the 50's, the 80's, even the 90's. Not the 60's; too many troubles. Not the 70's: same. Believe me, if I could, I would go and never come back! Seriously, much thanks for your comments.

@@bobwerner6967 I don’t think he was rally champion but he did win the saloon car championship in 1964 - the forerunner to today’s touring car championship, maybe that’s it. And yes, far too many of them lost, all so tragic and all so needless. Happy Thanksgiving

@@ougal84 Yes, touring cars. That's what I was thinking of. Thanks!
