Dense here. I could tell it was meant to be an insult, but didn't connect it to his police work, so I was trying to figure out what he meant by that. Got it. I sure hope he needs a cop one day & realizes what an idiot all the cip-haters have been. Sure there are dirty cops, but who's gonna be the one you need to arrest the robber in your home? Maybe absence would make his heart grow fonder...
Yes, it was mostly gone, until woke peoples brought it to light again. Just a few decades ago, while racism was not gone, it was seen as something bad, not many wanted to be friend with racist peoples except other racist.
This is why freedom of speech is so important. Anyone says anything like that just outed themselves as a racist. I mean, that's an absolutely bizarre BS statistic to be walking around with. Race means a lot to that person.
I was kinda wondering what she was talking about I’ve bought a few houses and the question of what race the people were that live here never popped up. Seems to me the people like her are the racist ones they can’t get over skin color yet they try to make it seem as if they are against racism.
I don't give a f@#k what colour anybody's skin is. I don't give a damn what peoples religions are. I could care less about ones nationality. I judge people by their character.
thats literally what everyone but leftists think, they solely judge people based off their race and self prescribed identity. they are quite literally the definition of racism.
WERE MUTTS in reality. Where i grew up in northern NY/VT/NH the elders used to say, the english tried to kill as many as they could, the french fuked as many as they could! viva AMERICAN BLOODLINES BABY!
He's completely clueless on race though. By his argument, most black people aren't even black. The average African American is about 20-25% European and already biracial Unless you recently immigrated from Africa, the odds of you being 100% African are slim to none
His mother was white and his father was black, regardless of whether it was Barack Obama, Sr. or the more likely Frank Marshall Davis. His stepfather, Lolo Soetero was Indonesian. He went by Barry Soetoro until it was convenient to have an African sounding name. I’ve seen paperwork hat lists his citizenship as Indonesian, but it’s possible that that was simply a matter of convenience as well, if the paperwork was actually valid.
One could be Black and Indonesian. Black just means Black it doesn’t mean “African American” but “African Americans” are Black biracial people are biracial unless (imo) they say that they are Black 🤷🏾♂️
I love how a white soy boy thinks he knows MUCH better than a black man what it means to be a black man. I guess he thinks a black man is incapable of thinking properly without his much wiser white help. I guarantee that 99.99% of folks would rather have Mr Tatum as their neighbor.
“Hispanic” is not a race. There are black Hispanics, white hispanics, biracial Hispanics… I am black Hispanic from Venezuela. I am not the same race as Andy Garcia, a white hispanic from Cuba.
@@katiejon17Nothing really. Some people prefer one over another. It’s just different words for a culture, not a race. I also think much of the confusion comes in because some parts of the US only experience certain Latinos. For example, in California it is mostly Mexicans, so that is what many Californians idea of a Latino is. In NYC, we have Dominicans, Cubans, Venezuelan. The culture has some similarities to the Mexican Latino culture, but in other ways it is very different. But safe to say Latinos/Hispanics come in all races (yes Asian too) and skin colors.
@@katiejon17😂. Just know this 1. Latino/Hispanic is not a race If anyone travels through Central and South America they would see why. 2. America called it a race. In fact the US invented the term “Hispanic”.
I am biracial and I’ve found that people label me as black or white depending on whatever context they want to use me in. Whenever I say something conservative, I’m always either “not black” or “self-hating.”
Its a sad state, I pray one day we all grow up and move past all this nonsense, we are ONE RACE, humans, we just happen to come in different shades and cultures, as a "white" man with dwarfism, I label you as a beautiful human being, hope we both get to see that day come soon.
I’m of native and European ancestry. The idea that natives who live in reservations being given a mortgage cracks me up. Just like black communities (hoods), reservations are the same in that they are filled with people making bad choices, and being completely dependent on WHITE taxpayers.
Australian is not a race, its a culture. You are what you mentioned. In America, I would be called a mutt, which is another word for being mixed. Yea, its disrespectful but a lot of people here lack respect and common sense. Accept your lineage, fxck what anyone else says.
I bought my house without ever meeting the previous owners. I highly doubt my realtor would’ve lowered the price if they’d have been black. 🤦🏻♀️ These people live on another planet.
If you have shitty house with people doing shitty around your house no more your skin color it will produce less value... but no matter your color if you care for your things they can produce a higher value
@@MyZ001 Redlining has been against the law since 1968. That said, the law has been very strictly enforced for many, many years now. Audits are performed regularly to ensure that lending is unbiased. Additionally, underwriters almost never meet the borrower; it's frowned upon...for this very reason. They decide based on facts... income, job security (how many years in the same job and/or industry), credit scores, DTI, and a number of purely objective data points. At no time is the race, religion, sex, political beliefs, etc even known...much less utilized. Most of the underwriters with bigger institutions aren't even in the same state. Sorry, I know it's an inconvenient truth, but lending is not subjective. It's just not.
@@mgconty1283exactly, we constantly hear about "whites approved at higher rates than blacks", but NEVER hear "asians are approved at higher rates than whites", and please find a statistic on jewish rates of approval versus whites and asians. they constantly use certain data points to argue for "white supremacy", but its a poor white supremacy that allows two other so called marginalized groups to outperform them. ohhh i see, they're "white adjacent"? jeebus christmas
That person calling him a donut because they think he’s not as intelligent as they are is funny within itself because 2 seconds later he clearly articulates exactly how he’s way more intelligent! Instead of resorting to name calling he clearly explains why he said what he said!
If two racial individuals get together and create a child and if that baby is born here in the United States of America, that baby is American Citizen. Enough said.
It doesn't make a difference if one parent is white and one is black. It doesn't matter why would it matter?. I'm 3/4 Cheyenne 1/4 French so what does that make me? A person with a couple of different people with a different heritage. I'm not just French and I'm not just Cheyenne. I'm lucky because I'm a little of 2 different people. It's fantastic. People can see both in me. It's awesome.i like it.
When the crash took place, race baiters who created the very conditions that caused the crash (Adjustable interest rates), then cried that it was due to "predatory lenders".
They pretend the lenders purposefully gave mortgage loans to people who they knew would default in order to collect on the security. They conveniently ignore that the collateral was worthless. That’s why the lenders bundled up all those mortgages into “collateralized debt instruments” and sold them onward to suckers who’d be left holding the bag. This is what happens when government forces lenders to give loans to people who would otherwise never fulfill the lenders’ criteria.
@@Mistmantle88 Exactly they were "subprime" which is a buzzword for shit. A prime loan is like prime rib or prime steak or prime time. That mean good. These loans were passed around like musical chairs. They were giving people who had ZERO discipline for debt payments 105% loans in CA because the property prices were rising, because more people were "qualifying" for loans and demand drove up the prices. They started at 1.5% and they bought new shit (cars, playstations, rims, vacations) because their monthly mortgage for 2,000 SF house was lower than their rent of a 2 bedroom apartment. Once the interest rate began to climb as they were told it would, they failed to keep up and were foreclosed on. They up and left the house after they tore out the kitchen and bathroom fixtures/cabinets. They couldn't sell to get the equity because so many defaulted prices plummeted. It was due to climate change caused by white supremacy, capitalism and the patriarchy. Not because they worked at unskilled jobs and were bad risks.
No it doesn't. Lots don't speak Spanish or have foreign culture. It means halfbreed who is not allowed to be white or Indian. Whites like Puerto rican Charlie sheen whose real name is estevez is just white American.
@@evangelion1962 No, they're right, it does just mean Spanish speaking. Not sure what Charlie Sheen has to do with anything. Oh, and Indians come from South Asia lol
@@ChrisR395 it doesn't mean Spanish speaking. If it did a massive chunk of the Hispanics would not be Hispanic bc they don't speak Spanish. They're not allowed in the white box and they're not allowed in the American Indian box. The small number of white ones like Charlie sheen aren't considered Hispanic bc everyone knows the term is for brown hybrids.
My son is half Korean, half white. I would never EVER simply say, "he's Korean." That would be ridiculous. If someone asked me if he is Asian or Korean, I'd say "He's half white, half Korean" or "Half Korean, half White." This one drop rule is freakin absolutely stupid.
Here in Brazil we invented a new breed called “Pardo”, which is the combination of black, white and amerindian. I'm even pardo, and I see that this is one of the reasons why we don't have cultural differences between blacks and whites like in the USA. Greetings from Brazil to our American brothers!
@@obrasiliano1832 Hello! I had to use a word in Portugese that i know. I have a coworker from Brazil who taught me this word. (I was taught other words and phrases, but those words would not appropriate in polite company!) Adiòs e boa sorte!
I have bought and sold a few houses. Most times the buyer and seller never meet. Likewise, the seller rarely meets the appraiser. How would home prices in the same neighborhood be different if the buyer and appraiser have no idea what race the seller is?
What the fuck? Hispanic is white! Lots of different Europeans. I am an American of Scottish, Jewish,Dutch, and Croatian descent. We are all Americans of mixed descent.
I can somewhat relate. In certain social settings people consider me brown, Mexican, Middle Eastern just going off of appearance. Well, they got the Middle Eastern part partially right since my maternal Italian ancestry is part Middle Eastern. Dad's side is white Northern European. I still identify as white on paper.
Regarding the "one drop rule" completely agree with speaker. You should not default to the addition of color to "pure white" (socially speaking) However, if you want to mix paint. The tint of that color would default to the addition of the darker color. Ex. go to home depot ask to have paint mixed. They will start with a lighter color and add the darker color. After you paint your walls, and you have a friend over. Would he or she admire the wall as mixed? 50/50? I know, it's a silly comparison. But it's true. That being said.... I completely agree with Officer Tatums synopsis. yw for the comment.
I have worked in an appraisal office for over 20 yrs. We can’t even have personal photos or religious items in our photos because we can’t show color or religious status of the owners. So, home values have nothing to do with color
An appraisal is not the value of the property. It is only an estimate. The actual value of anything is defined by how much the property sold for. You can have an appraisal for $1,000,000 but if the only buyer interested offers $10 that is all you are going to get.
Thomas also said that his neighborhood as a kid, was not dangerous, and even if there were black neighborhoods white people were also spending time there. No one was scared. He also attributes a lot of the bad stuff to "gangster culture/ black American culture"...
I mean, it's possible. We would have to look at the source code to know for sure, and I'm not saying this is what I believe, frankly I'm not educated enough on the goings ons of banks to have an opinion, but whoever made the program that gives our loans might have made it racist if they were so inclined. Again not my opinion, just saying it's not impossible
honestly his example of black banks denying black loans is not a good point. the first person or group to turn away from the black community is a successful black person/group
I like Ben. I like Candace. I don’t like Tatum. Tatum is a clown. Buddy really said he thinks the housing loans given out to black people as an over-correction to redlining caused the Great Recession. Is he serious??? 🤦🏾♂️😭😭😭
Here’s my problem with the race thing now and with most woke liberals…the things they say were true nice true in a different time of American history. Not only on an institutional level but on an individual societal level these things were accepted. Today these things are not implemented on an institutional level and largely they are no longer accepted on an individual societal level (ex: an individual calling a black man the word in public, or a store owner on an individual level not allowing black people in there store…non of those things are acceptable anymore) With that being said I would agree there is still instances of individual racism. But that is bound to happen and damn near impossible to eradicate. On the institutional level the same thing. These things aren’t happening at a level where I would deem it detrimental or where black people cant move up in society… They over inflate reality and constantly don’t want to look towards the future just the past. The racism in have faced in no way stopped me from pursuing anything.
I don’t always care for these debates because it gets me a little angry, but I appreciate Mr. Tatum because I think he’s gonna help out a lot of people and the way they think and maybe get out of the poor situation. They’re in find a good job go to work, so thank you, sir.
@@Gww-1 tribal mentality is also part of the problem. I’m of native decent - no tribal group is going to tell me my ancestry isn’t enough to recognize that I’m part native. My European ancestry certainly isn’t ranked that way. But just like the “black communities” in the US being a complete mess of their own making - so to are the natives who group on reservations. They are all absolutely dependent on whites.
Show me a black person, then show me a white one. We have a word in uk which means nonsense =bollocks. A black rhino is not black, a white rhino is not white. I'm different coulours depending on various cercamcstances. All i see is various shades of brown.
Hispanic isn't even a race, it's a collection of various ethnicities largely to describe the people south of the US. The region's first inhabitants were descendants of the Oriental race that travelled here across the Bering Sea land bridge multi-millennia ago, then it gained Caucasians largely from thw white settlers of Spain and Portugal, and also black African slaves. The region is largely a mix of those three races yet you can still find white and black people and there are even pure descendants of ancient cultures like the Mayans. I think the races of this region are more integrated than other parts of the world, but you can still be a pasty skinned blue eyed white dude of complete European descent or a dark skinned brown eyed of complete African descent.
I worked in the mortgage industry from almost 20 years and it didn’t matter what someone’s race or ethnicity was or what their political or sexual orientation was. The lenders were thrilled to have all these loans coming in everybody’s money is green.
This is the wrong take away... Saying "we're all the same" takes away from the differences between my culture, hispanic's culture, and a white person's culture/heritage (if they celebrate one: irish, german, italian, etc). Instead it should be more like "we're different, but we should celebrate those differences, because we are all equal".
I determine someone’s race based off of what they say it is! If they are 50% black and 50 white but they want me to call them black then I’ll call them black and vice versa
So in racial statistics the person that he is talking with is white Hispanic is not a race it is a nationality or culture. Also minority is a misnomer as well. The most populace race in the world is eastern Asia. Go to central Africa and see if a white person is the majority. The whole race thing is foolish in general and he explains it so well.
I usually agree with officer Tatum and TPUSA but... I would argue I identify race, not by the one drop rule, but by whatever features are most prominent. If your children are redheaded with freckles I would say they are white. If they have a dark complexion and an Afro I would say they are black. Of course the reality is somewhere in the middle but I'm going to go with whatever features are more dominant. Skin color is just a descriptive feature, nothing more and doesn't need to be treated as "bad"
