Operation Understanding DC is a non-profit organization whose mission is to, "build a generation of African American and Jewish community leaders who promote respect, understanding and cooperation while working to eradicate racism, anti-Semitism and all forms of discrimination."
Speakers:
Rachael Feldman serves as Executive Director of Operation Understanding DC. The organization has allowed her to work with the Washington-area's most inspiring Black and Jewish young leaders, to contribute to creating a more equitable community and ensuring that the spirit of the civil rights movement continues with future generations.
Tierra Rich hails from Washington, Dc. With a creative background from her youth, she has now taken a pivotal approach on community and entertainment. Studying at Duke Ellington School Of The Arts during high school, Tierra was able to perform for Russell Simmons, Sonja Sanchez, Roger Guvuver, and Rev Run.
Mica O'Brien is a 17-year old senior at Maret High School in Washington, Dc and will graduate this June. As a junior she joined OUDC and loved her time in the program.
Maurice Wilkins is a recent graduate of Morehouse College with a BA in Africana studies and political science. While there, he was one of six students to be selected for the Leadership Center's Oprah Winfrey South Africa Leadership Project. The Project allowed students to study ethical leadership within the context of South Africa with special interest in the correlation of HIV/Aids and poverty.
